Just an adventurer for fun

Though you were sometimes fighting other creatures and taking on high ranked missions you would often go for smaller missions with little to no rewards to help the people. You already had enough money from previous experiences.

Oftentimes that would be teaming up with goblin slayer to fight goblins.

Your journal was expanding with new forms of knowledge and you were becoming deadlier by the day, you think goblin slayer didn't mind you either as it made his job easier.

You also met amazing people, Ushikai Musume (cowgirl),  Uketsuke Jo (guild girl) and Mojo (witch).

The board was always full and though the people were loud some were gems, you would stay here for a while.

You liked it here.

Today you would do another mission, this time it was with a goblin quest, so goblin slayer would tag along. Uketsuke told you both that this party had gone on a mission though another part had went and taken it on, after listening to the party members description as well as the goblin mission both of you went to prepare to fight.

Although you knew that they had a balanced team, and with the experience and time they could become great adventurer. You knew that overconfidence was a slow and insidious killer, any misstep was the cost of your life or your dignity.

Hitchhiking on a wagon made things much faster. Even if you could no obtain much glory from this mission if you could just save one person by getting here just a little earlier that would be enough.

Although goblin slayer had said that he was going to scout first you rushed in, he trusted you enough to not die. You were capable enough. He understood your vastly different fighting style, whereas he was calculated, you were brutal.

Though without a torchlight you were adapted to the dark, far to many missions in the dark had led you to this metamorphosis.

A light at the end of the hall flickered and fell.

Rushing in sword in hand you rushed in to fight.

The large goblin had just thrown the fighter down, goblins rushed greedily to get the first feel of her tearing away at her clothes.

"Run away." she had lost all hope and she knew that there was no way out.

But

A glimpse of light,

And a crack of rock, pebbles bounces.

And for but a moment all were confused.

The head of one goblin slides off and its body falls, other falls with it.

You came rushing without a weapon but with the rage and fury of a thousand suns.

Leaping in you step on one goblin, pull out your sword and slice at the other two.

You turn over your attention to the priestess and the wizard. No goblins.

The area was dimly light by the torch it was shadowy, and you only had a few minutes to aid them before the wave of goblins would arrive.

You had learned much from goblin slayer, he would be arriving soon but you were sure that other goblins would arrive to see if they had brought back anything good.

Grabbing your cloak you covered the fighter and rushed to the witch. She was stabbed in the stomach, and she wasn't getting any better, there was a priestess nearby. She was poisoned, reaching into the pocket on your side you rushed to get the antivenom out, a small vial that you though it was not suited for this poison she would live. It slid down and burned her through her throat but she was paralyzed for now and stayed silent. You grabbed the herbs and placed it into her wounds before bandaging it up.

The sounds of feet against stone was starting to close in on you now and the torch was slowly running out.

You grabbed another vial and roll of bandages and placed it into he palms of priestess's hands "Give the vial to the fighter there and keep the arrow in you unless you are going to bandage yourself."

You grabbed your sword and headed towards the darkness "Reinforcements are coming just stay safe I will handle them."

The waves were no match for your blade, each swing would take out dozens of goblins. You ran into the room and were faced against the shaman, and in front, the hobgoblin. The Shaman started casting, though it probably wouldn't have dealt a lot of damage if any, you weren't one to take chances, running in you through your sword. The hobgoblin didn't try to block it and so it cut the Shaman down.

Seeing your lack of weaponry the hobgoblin swings his log clumsily, only for you swipe it. Rushing in you take him to the ground, a multitude of swings on his face. Rage consumed you as you left a bloodied mess.

Out of breath you look around the room. Clear of goblins now, goblin slayer looked around your work. Violent yet graceful, messy but masterful.

Going over to your sword you pull it out of the stone and corpse. You walked up to him grabbed the torch and threw it into the hole.

Screams of young goblins echoed as you both walked away.

---

Another batch of souls, broken and battered, cast aside like a spent torch

The rescued woman were hooded and driven off in a carriage, the fighter and the witch along as well. They would be joining the temples to try and find peace from religion, a second chance at life I suppose though they wouldn't be living quite the same.

Far too many souls have been like this, though one always excites at the thought of glory far too many rookies end up below the earth or succumbing to their own demons.

Regardless of the glory, you would still fight for those who cannot.

It was a new day, so a new evil would have to be slain.

Today you would join goblin slayer again, with the polite but stern request from the priestess you allowed her to join you in this mission.

"Mr. Goblin slayer" she stood behind you both as you were talking to the Uketsuke.

And when you turned around to look at her she realized who you were,  "You are the doom slayer." you smiled at that name, you liked that one. "I didn't get to thank you, my name is Yui Ogura."

"Just call me (Y/N) priestess." you gave a nod.

"Oh I did as you asked." Yui looked at goblin slayer. "I got chainmail now."

He looked through the slits of his helmet "I see."

"So what mission are you going on today."

"Goblins, are you coming with us?"
