DANICA
I ignored my mom’s voice in the back of my head while I ordered my food, “I’ll have an order of onion rings and anything you have on tap for a beer is fine.” The waitress finishes taking our order and I look around to take in the bar. It isn’t something you’d find in the snooty parts of Denver, but it isn’t a dive like Amber had described in the hotel room earlier. “So are we going to make a game plan for the next few days or just fly by the seat of our pants?”
“We have two things we have to do, based on the reservations I’ve already made. You all thought I was joking when I mentioned yoga, but they honestly have yoga on the peak and I already reserved our spots.”
“How do we get up there?” Charlotte asks. “Hike? Because hiking, yoga, and hiking again sounds exhausting.”
“No, no. They have jeeps that’ll take us up. We’re going it tomorrow at sunrise, so don’t get TOO drunk tonight.”
“You’re just telling us now?” I exclaimed, “I ordered so much fried food I may not even FIT into my yoga pants tomorrow.”
“Sorry! They only do them early in the morning. I promise I’ll buy everybody coffee before we go and breakfast when we get back.”
“With pancakes?” I wiggle my eyebrows.
“Yes, Danica, with pancakes,” she blew a kiss in my direction.
Our beers all come back to the table and a few minutes later the aroma of fried food hits the air as the waitress comes back with all our goodies. We decide to just put the food in the middle and share.
“Keep the beers coming, sweetheart!” Amber makes the waitress blush, but she comes back a few minutes later with a pitcher of beer and sets it in the middle of the table.
“Is this okay?” The waitress asked. “I just thought then you could serve yourselves and I’ll keep this filled.”
“Love this. You are a genius!” Amber complimented her.
“That’s why they pay me the big bucks,” she winked. We all laugh as she walks away to check on other tables.
“Okay, so what was the second thing that you had planned?” I asked Amber as I dipped one of my onion rings into the homemade ranch.
“A winery tour!” She clapped her hands together. “I know that is one of the things I told your mom as a cover, but wine, cheese, and meat platters. Yum, Yum!”
“I’m always down for a meat and cheese platter,” Helena finished one beer and poured herself another.
“Well, that is Sunday afternoon. So we can sleep in on Sunday if we’re up too late tomorrow.”
“And those are all the plans?” I asked.
“Pretty much! Any other time we can make spa reservations. Drink. Drink even more,” she laughed and finished her beer.
We finish the pitcher currently on the table and the waitress brings out another one for us. A few of the guys in the bar end up buying shots down us. We down those, the polite thing to do, and then order another round of food to soak up some alcohol.
“Oh my god, I have the BEST idea!” Helena squeals.
“What?” the three of us ask in unison.
“Wait, let me find it on my phone.” Helena starts scrolling through her phone and a few minutes brings up a page. “Here it is! Bachelorette Bingo!”
