Rebound

Once a girl so full of grace,
Used as a rebound in another's race.
Her heart was broken, her spirits low,
As she watched him go with another, oh no.

She gave him love, she gave him her all,
But he couldn't see beyond his own fall.
He used her as a stepping stone to mend,
His shattered heart that had reached its end.

She was the glue that held him tight,
But he couldn't see the love in her eyes so bright.
He took her for granted, never to realize,
The depth of her love, her sacrifice.

But she will rise, she'll find her way,
With a heart full of love, she'll make him pay.
She'll move on, and find someone true,
Who'll love her for who she is, and not just a rebound for the blues.
