Lingered in my mind,
Unspoken, they were trapped,
Left behind.
I wish I'd told him,
How much he meant to me,
And how much he impacted,
My life's destiny.
I wish I'd said,
"I love you" more,
And shown him the depth,
Of what I had in store.
I wish I'd told him,
How sorry I was,
For any hurt I caused,
And how I wished to pause.
I wish I'd said,
"Forgiveness" in time,
And let go of the past,
To make our love shine.
But now it's too late,
The words are left unsaid,
And my heart is left with regrets,
And what could have been.
