         BEAU LANGLEY'S POV

When we exit the hotel, we find Teddy waiting in the car for us, and we waste no time taking off.

"God, that was close." Teddy looks at us from the rearview mirror. I'm still feeling a little buzz in my skin from the near experience of getting caught. I can hear sirens fade away as we drive in the opposite direction.

"Ariel should be getting out of the city by now, we'll meet her there, Nova will join us after a few days, just to...," I listen to Teddy as he speaks, he is nervous, I mean who isn't, we almost got caught, although that's the thrill for me, I live for it, however, for the others, it isn't. They always want a clean job. I like that we never admit to caring about each other, but our actions prove otherwise.

"We're all good Teddy." I smile and he smiles back.

Stanz throws off her dress and wig beside me. "This shit itches," she grumbles.

Teddy and I share a look, then let out a peal of hearty laughter, Stanz has always been Stanz, a big middle finger to societal beauty standards.

Before we reach the outskirts of the city, we stop to ditch the fancy car and hop into our normal ride. I watch as the big city becomes smaller and smaller while we drive into our small town where the middle-class lives.

So, right below the wealthy is us, the middle class which consists of people that are either living in debt to maintain their class or really honest people who are slowly losing their assets to the greedy elites.

My eyes land on the town sign that's holding on for dear life to a post. There was so much wrong with this place, thick smoke from the factories formed a cloud up above where the beautiful blue sky should be, making it look dark and gloomy on most days. It was a huge difference compared to the city where you can see the impressive skyscrapers and their beauty even from afar.

"Should I drop you off at the market Beau?" Teddy asks.

The market is where we go to find an instant buyer for our items, there is always someone ready to buy without question. It's how this world works. Even if I am found, the diamond will be long gone, never to be found again, that's how fast goods travel on this market.

"No, I'll do it tomorrow morning, let's make sure Ariel made it back safely."

A long drive later we arrive at my home and see Ariel's car parked outside. It's a relief to know she's safe.

"Took you guys long enough," She stands at the door leaning against the frame, with her son in one hand.

"Uncle Beau, you're back," My nephew, Star, runs into my arms, I can't help but smile at his joyfulness.

"Come see, grandpa helped me finish up the wheelchair." Star pulls me into the house and brandishes the wheelchair he made with my father.

"Look, look, grandpa put thick tires so Mary can run with us again when she gets well." My heart drops into my stomach when I hear Mary's name, I had almost forgotten why I steal in the first place. 'The money can help improve our only hospital and clinic. Many families cannot afford the luxurious healthcare in the city or even if they did I doubt they would be allowed to go there.'

"Uncle Beau, what do you think?" Star shakes my arm to get my attention.

"I think I have a very smart nephew, who is compassionate and determined."

"And, one more thing," his cheeks turn rosy, "Grandpa and I used some of the parts from your motorbike."

"What?" I look down at Star and he smiles sheepishly. "You can't keep dismantling my stuff."
