    LANET HINES' POV

I remain stock still, the cold metal pressing hard into my belly. This woman doesn't look like she's joking. One mistake and I'm a goner.

"Teddy, take Star to his room." the lady says without taking her eyes away from me.

I hear footsteps from within the house and I know she isn't alone.

"If it weren't for my brother, I would blow your gut out," she snarls

Oh yes, I see the resemblance, they do look so much alike. "I don't want to cause trouble, I just... is he here?"

She rounds me and points the gun at my spine, fear slithers around my body, tightening around my bones like a snake as she forces me inside the house by pushing the gun roughly against my back.

"You're going to be very nice and quiet." She sits me down on the couch. I am there for hours with the gun pointed at me, at this point I'm just grateful that I'm not tied up or worse.

"Ariel, he said he'll be home in a few minutes." a very bulky guy comes in where we're sitting.

"Thanks, Teddy. Please get our guest some water." I am scared as hell but I can somehow feel that these people aren't killers, I'm not sure about the hulked guy called Teddy, he looks like he could punch the lights out of me, but his eyes are so friendly, they say otherwise.

I hear the door click open and a familiar voice behind me. "I'm sorry about all this trouble sis."

"Where were you?" she narrows her eyes at him.

"I took a long walk."

"It wasn't a walk, he ran into the woods." I chime in.

"I have no time for this, I don't have enough money, so I can't pay you back until my next job." I bet his next job is stealing somewhere else because there's no way his job at the clinic is going to pay me back. "Just leave my family out of this, I'll pay you back like the decent person that I am."

"Beau you don't have to do anything. I can help." his sister says with a sigh. "But it'd be easier to...you know." she makes a gesture with the gun pointing at me.

My throat tightens and I regret coming here. Why did I even come by myself? Did I like him that much?

"What, no, no." Beau's eyes bulge out of their sockets. At least one of them is hesitant.

"Look, there's a way you can pay me back." All three of them turn to me.

"I'm listening."

"Remember, the heirloom I told you about?" I begin to explain "There are two more pieces of it missing, each piece worth hundreds of millions...,"

Beau laughs, cutting me off. "Wait, let me guess, you want me to steal it?"

"Yes, I want you to steal both of them."

"What do you think this is? You have money, go buy them back like you did the others. "

"I can't, they're not for sale." I momentarily eye the gun, making sure I am still safe.

Beau laughs hysterically, I can see the clocks in his head turning.

"You steal both pieces and take the other one for yourself." I sweeten the deal for him. He has got to pay me back somehow, I'm not going to just let him get away with this, that's unless the sister really uses that gun.

"Yes" his sister and the big guy say at the same time.

"I think the fuck not." Beau hisses

"Beau you can finally keep some money for yourself." his sister suggests
