The Surprise of a Lifetime

The Call

It was now Friday afternoon and everything at the 1-6 had been calm since the events of Wednesday. Brewer was going to be facing charges for everything. He pled guilty so a trial was not necessary.

Pushing 3:30 Fin decided to go get a coffee at the café around the corner. He was on call since Liv was on leave. When he got to the café he got his usual and headed back to the precinct.

Once he stepped off the elevator he headed straight for his desk. Around 5 he decided to call it a day. He told everyone to go home, saying if they need us they will call.

Walking into his apartment he went straight to the living room to chill and play some video games. As he was playing his phone went off.

"Sergeant Tutuola" he said not seeing who called.

"Hey Fin! Did I call at a bad time?" The voice on the other end asked.

"Baby Girl you could never call at a bad time! How are you?" He said.

"I'm good Fin. I was actually calling to see how Liv is doing. I would call her but I know she needs to be resting. I figured you may know."

"She's ok. We got the guy who caused all this mess and he pleaded guilty so no trial. Everyone is relieved." He responded.

"I'm glad to hear that Fin. Listen maybe don't tell her I called. I don't want her thinking I'm just keeping tabs and not talking to her. We both know how she can be."

"I got you. However, how are you really? You can't hide anything from me. I know you too well." He said. There was a pause on the other end. "Spill it." After that the voice on the other end broke.

"I am actually doing good I just miss everything. Nothing is how I thought it would be and I'm having second thoughts."

"It's ok to question everything. It's all so new for you. We aren't far ya know!" Fin always has to give that reminder.

"I know Fin. I appreciate you so much! I'll talk to you later!"

With that they both hung up.

Fin sat with a smug smirk on his face. He knew exactly why they called and why they wouldn't call Liv. He just hoped that the part about things not being how the other thought wasn't as bad as his gut was making it out to be.
