Liv decided to get to the precinct early. She stopped and grabbed a coffee before she came in. She got to her office and got right to work. Everyone started to file in 45 minutes after she got there.
The day hadn't been busy but it wasn't calm either. They had a few cases that were easily handled. The peeps were picked up and the process was smooth.
Around 1:30 they got a call about a vic at Bellevue Hospital. Liv walked out into the bullpen and told Muncy that they were leaving in 5. When they were about to leave she got a call so she sent Fin with Muncy instead of going herself.
Fin and Muncy returned an hour later and Muncy looked like she was going to meet her end at any moment. Fin walked in to brief Liv on what was going on.
"The vic is just a kid Liv.. This is her first case with someone under 18 and it's hitting her pretty hard. We have the name of the guy but I think I'm gonna take Valasco with me so she can take a breather. Would you mind checking in with her?" Fin asked.
"I've got her Fin. Got get the son of a bitch who hurt that little girl. I'll take care of Muncy." Liv said with confidence.
After Fin and Valasco left Live gave Muncy a few minutes to breathe before she called her into her office.
"Yes Captain?" Muncy asked.
"Do you wanna talk about the case? I can see it's hitting you pretty hard." Liv stated.
"I'm fine Cap. What I'm feeling is nothing compared to what that poor girl is feeling. She's 15! That piece of shit took a part of her that she will never get back. I can't believe there are people in this world who would do that to children." Muncy said in a ton that wasn't quite angry but it was sad either.
"Why don't you take a minute, or 30. Go get a coffee or just go for a brief walk. Clear your head a bit and come back. If you don't feel better come see me again." Liv said in her mothering tone with a soft sympathetic smile.
As Muncy was walking out Carisi walked in looking for the files from the earlier cases. Liv gave them to him and then he asked if they could talk. Liv agreed.
"What's up Carisi?" Liv asked.
"Have you talked to Amanda lately?" He questioned.
"I have not. Is everything ok?" Liv asked, her voice laced with concern.
"Well she's been kinda off lately. Sneaking around lying about where she's been. She won't leave the girls alone with me." He says.
"Has anything happened between the 2 of you? Any arguments or anything?" Liv was starting to get concerned.
"Nope. Nothing has happened." He said.
Liv was really good at reading people. She could tell that he was holding back and she was starting to get suspicious of him and his actions. She had been really close with Amanda before she left the 1-6 and Amanda just fell off the face of the earth after leaving. Liv just assumed that she was busy but she was starting to suspect otherwise.
"Have you tried to talk to her? Maybe there is something going on in Atlanta that she's not talking about." Liv was trying to keep a poker face as to not tip him off that she's not buying what he's saying.
"I doubt it. I've been keeping an eye on the phone records. She doesn't talk to anyone. She knows about you being held hostage though. That was the first time I saw any emotion in her in awhile." He stated not realizing what he said.
"Carisi, why do you check the phone records?" She asked with a concerned tone.
"Because she's a whore. I mean she has 2 bastard children. Who says she won't end up with a 3rd." He says.
"You do realize you are talking about your wife right?" She says bitting back her rage. Instead it comes out soft.
"Yeah I know who I'm talking about. She's not wife material though. I've gotta make her that way." Liv is really questioning why he is saying all of this to her of all people.
"Carisi exactly how do you plan on making her wife material?" She's about to lose it.
"I've gotta take control. Let her know that I'm in charge." He says with a smirk, "maybe then those children will actually listen to me."
"Carisi I think it's time for you to go. Frankly I don't like how you are talking about my best friend and I don't care to listen to anymore of what you have to say." Liv was shouting.
Fin had returned a few minutes after Carisi had arrived and was standing outside the door of the office. He heard everything. Now he knew it all. He knew why Amanda was being weird and he was honestly scared for her.
"Liv maybe you are why she's so disobedient. She used to be so submissive before you two became friends. So everything that's going to happen will be because of you!" He was now yelling at the Captain.
