Charlie's POV
Four years later
I say "welcome to my humble abode." The original ducks come in in the late hours of the morning, no Adam around our small house. Adam went to get the pre hockey game workout in, he'll be back to eat in a few hours then back out for pregame. Connie says "I never pictured your own house to be this nice."

Adam is an OCD freak sometimes. He gets singing and dancing goofily and will clean the whole damn house then he'll call it cardio instead of chores. I love my meathead boyfriend. Guy says "our apartment isn't this clean and probably never will be." We chuckle and Julie says "California is so hot. I'm used to the snow." Luis says "no wonder you're so uptight, sweetheart."

We all gather in the living room. I say "I have news." Dewayne says "you got a girlfriend." I say "what?! No!" Julie says "you are so lonely living here though" groaning. Julie says "you need a life." I say "ma'am, I have a dog." We chuckle and Dean says "you have a dog?!" I say "yeah, she'll be back in a couple hours."

Adam will run her out when he goes for a run in the morning then he'll take her to the gym with him after that. Our wild golden retriever almost as wild as the human golden retriever in this house known as Adam Banks.

Our friends still don't know about Adam and I and they don't know he lives here with me. Fulton says "all I can think about is the dog now." We laugh and I say "do you want to hear my news now?" They all nod and I say "I got us free tickets to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, right at the glass, center ice."

We all cheer and a few say "let's go, dude!" Guy says "how'd you get them free?" I say "I know a guy" smirking and Julie says "has Adam talked to you?" I say "the guy is busy with hockey but yeah, I see him." Connie says "I haven't seen him since last summer." Julie says "I haven't seen that guy or talked to him since high school graduation."

I say "he's really good at texting first and holding a conversation over the phone" sarcastically. We chuckle and I say "let me go get the tickets. Please say you brought your original ducks jerseys." Connie says "ooo, we're pulling out the green. Woohoo!" I go up to Adam and I's shared room and I grab the tickets out of the safe. The envelope says: Charlie and the ducks with a heart next to my name.

I smile and I bring the envelope downstairs and I put it on the coffee table. Fulton says "did you get these from a secret admirer? Cause that's a heart." I say "not a secret admirer." Connie gasps saying "do you have a girlfriend and you aren't telling us?" I say "guys, I'm bi. I could be dating absolutely anyone in this state right now. Hell, maybe it's one of you."

Goldberg says "I forgot about that." Connie says "I didn't wanna out you." Guy says "she told me" and she shoves his shoulder. Dean says "is there a guy?" They all dramatically gasp and I say "no, I am single. Sorry to disappoint." Luis says "damn, thought you'd pull a hot cali girl, you are kind of a golden retriever. Girls love that shit."

I say "correction, everyone loves that shit. I'm pretty popular around here ya know." We laugh and we talk for awhile just catching up and I hear the front door open. My golden retriever, Ducky, comes running in and I pet her saying "oh Ducky, how I missed you." Fulton says "she's so cute, I'm gonna die." I chuckle and Ducky licks my face.

I say "did you have fun, Ducky? Going for a run and going to the gym? Oh you brought a stray man home? Is that what I'm hearing in the doorway?" Adam comes in saying "hi everyone" smiling tiredly and Ducky goes to follow him to the kitchen. Adam says "you want something to eat, huh, doggo? Me too."

He drinks a protein shake as he walks to the stairs. He says "you guys coming to the game tonight?" I say "someone got us some free tickets" shrugging and Adam smiles at me saying "let me go shower because I have a lot of explaining to do and you don't want to smell me for that long. Then I gotta get the hell out of here."

He go upstairs to jump in the shower. Guy says "y'all live together for sure, no denying it." I sigh saying "yeah" nodding. Guy says "damn, so you actually bought a house, you didn't get it on the black market." I laugh saying "fuck. Wow, Guy. You think so highly of me."

Julie says "did Adam get hotter or am I dead?" Dewayne says "I think you're dying." Connie says "no, he's ripped and over six feet tall and has long hair. He got hotter for sure." Adam comes down a few minutes later and goes to the kitchen to make a sandwich and another protein shake. He comes back and sits next to me, Ducky laying on my feet.

Julie says "Banks, you are really bad at communication." Adam says "I've had a lot on my plate, that's why I've been ignoring everyone. I'm really sorry." He looks at them all and Connie says "what's been going on?" Adam says "just busy. Eat, run, workout, shower, eat some more, game, eat, and bed. That's six days a week, six months a year. Then the other day I sleep. I'm not saying this to make you feel bad but I'm just too busy to have time for my friends right now. I love y'all but I'm an asshole and I'm tired. The other six months I don't have an excuse. I'm sorry you haven't heard from me."
