Charlie's POV
Two years later
"Adam, I'm so tired." He says "I know, sunshine. We're pretty much out of here now. We graduate tomorrow. You're on full ride scholarship to a college near where I'm playing pros. We're gonna be having so much fun, sunshine." I say "I know, I'm just tired of hiding us. It's tiring but I don't know. At the same time I like it just being you and I. It's fun but it's tiring."

Adam says "what do you want to do then?" I say "I just want to get the hell out of here and have the best summer ever with you and with our friends." Adam smiles saying "ok, sunshine. We're almost there." He kisses me saying "I love you" and I say "I love you too" quietly. We're just hanging out in his dorm. All the ducks are civil with Adam now which makes everything less stressful but it still sucks.

He kisses me saying "are you scared to tell them?" I say "I think so but I'm not gonna regret it if I don't tell them." Adam says "me too" quietly and he holds me close all night.

Later the next day

I wake up mumbling "good morning" and Adam mumbles "good morning" smiling and we get ready for graduation. Button ups and ties and slacks. I say "you look so sexy" tying his tie and gently tightening it. He ties my tie for me saying "you're so hot." He rests his hands on my ass and says "I love you" and I say "I love you too." He kisses me and says "you need a belt. You have legs and an ass but no hips to keep those pants up" passing me my belt. I chuckle and I put it on, him gently rubbing my back.

I say "enjoy this while it lasts cause you aren't going to see anything like this till I graduate again or we get married. Whichever comes first." Adam says "oh we're gonna get married now?" I say "maybe. Who knows" him kissing me. I say "let's go" smiling at him and we go to the gym where everyone's meeting up before graduation.

The ceremony finishes quickly. Thank god. We go to the after party and Julie says "oh my god, we made it!" We all cheer and laugh and I say "I hope everyone's future plans get fulfilled, I'm gonna miss you all." We all say "cheers" lifting our drinks up. Connie says "guys, we'll still see each other, right?"

Goldberg says "we're still gonna be friends after this, right?" Dean says "uh, of course we are. We are bros for life, man. You can't get rid of me that quickly." I say "me either." We all smile at each other and I say "what's everyone's plans when they get out of here? Just so like if I'm missing you I can just go find you."

We all chuckle and we all share our plans, most of the kids that left their home state to be here are going back home. Julie is going to college in Maine at UMO since they gave her a full ride and she can play D1 hockey there too. So, she totally went for it. Some of us going to college, some going home, and Adam going pro.

I say "why don't you tell everyone what you're doing, Banksy?" Adam says "I'm playing for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks." Everyone freaks out making me laugh and I say "once a duck, always a duck" and Goldberg says "you'll always be a cake eater in my heart, Banks." Adam says "and I'm perfectly ok with that."

We go back to our dorms to grab our shit and I load all my stuff into Adams car. He says "please say I'm allowed to come over." I say "of course you are" pecking his lips as I close his dorm room door. I pick up a box saying "boy, why'd you bring so much?" He says "just did" shrugging.

Adam says "we're finally out of here" and I say "I know, crazy right?" I smile and I kiss him saying "I'm so happy. It'll be like a summer vacation all the time in California. I remember it being way too hot there. No snow. There's like palm trees and shit there." Adam chuckles saying "I'm excited. Can go on runs outside without seven layers."

I say "woo!" We chuckle and we bring his stuff to his car. I smile at him and everyone meets in the parking lot. I say "I bought something." I open his back door and I grab window paint. I say "anything you want to write on your window for this school to see as your last goodbye?" He says "can I write fuck you on the window?" I say "no" laughing. I sit on the trunk door of his car and I turn around, sitting cross cross. I write: just graduated. Then our graduation year and our hockey numbers. I then write at the top of the window: honk for the mighty ducks.

Adam chuckles saying "the chaos you are starting, sunshine." I chuckle saying "oh honey, my middle name is chaos." I draw the duck logo in the corner and I get down saying "this proves I passed an art class, right?" Adam chuckles saying "sure" shrugging. The rest of the team comes out along with the JV kids. One of the JV kids says "Banks, you were always my favorite!" Adam giggles saying "thanks, dude. Pick up where I'm leaving, man" bro hugging the kid.

I look at Adam and he smiles. We all say our goodbyes and Connie says "I'll see you all at the reunion." I say "duck reunion, we better not come to this schools reunion." They all nod and Adam says "maybe I'll have to come back to see if I'm still the hottest one in our year." Julie says "who tells you that?" I say "my mom probably" making Adam chuckle.

It was me. Not my mom.

We all say our byes, some of us crying even though some of us will see each other in a weeks time.
