Christmas passed with thankfully no more trouble and winter break still flourished with snow. I stared out my window as the white painted thickly across the yard. I sighed as I shut my curtains. Morro knocked before entering my room. " I made hot chocolate" He smiled and walked over. " You doing ok?" " Worried. Nothing has happened?" I sat with my legs to my chest. Morro frowned and sat by me, setting the mugs on my nightstand. " Yeah, but that's life. We never know when somethings going to hit us. But living in fear isn't the right look at life." " Then what do I do?" " Accept it. Be on guard but don't let it make you coward you know" He pulled his leg over the other as he tapped his fingers on his leg. " Lifes a battle field, the only victory you'll get is death. Because that means it's over. So when you're alive, put on your armor and stand tall with your shield."

I stared at Morro. Since when did he become so wise? " Thanks bro" " Yeah yeah. " He smiled and got up. He handed me my mug and left my room. I smiled too and took a sip. Life is a battle, so why weep like I was limbless and had no armor? I have strength, I have my friends, and I have myself. I got up and put on some warm clothes. I tugged my fuzzy boots on, wrapped myself in a scarf and a beanie. I lashed on some mittens and took my hot coco. I went to the door but got stopped. " Alone?" Morro leaned on the wall. " Yeah. As you said, Its a battlefield. I gotta be strong and not coward. Plus, I have you and the ninja on speed dial." I winked and went outside.

The snow crunched under my feet as I walked along the sidewalk. My hot coco draining into my mouth with each sip. The small breeze making me shiver. It felt nice to just, have me and myself for a change. No need to have guards. No need to be inside always. Just, me. I had some pep in my step as I happily walked around. The wind started to pick up however so I stepped inside a cafe that I happened to be by. I walked in and got a tea and muffin before sitting down.

As I stared out the window and ate my muffin I head Lloyds name in the conversation from a table near me. Right, I forgot people hate and bully him. " I cant believe people really think Lloyds like his dad" Or not? " Well, remember he was like that as a kid. He would proudly show off who his dad was and say he was gonna be just like him." Another voice huffed. " Yeah but then beat it into us when he changed, that he wouldn't be like his dad at all" " I still cant believe he did that" " Saved my ass though" " Made us sew" " Shut up Mr lisp" " I don't have one anymore!"

I chuckled as it directed my attention to snowflakes falling from the sky. The snow, adding new layers to the existing layer. I felt myself relax until a hand grabbed my shoulder. I yelped and hit who grabbed me. " Ow-" " oh my FSM Lloyd I'm sorry!" I gasped as Lloyd rubbed his cheek. He was the one who grabbed me. He groaned and sat down. " Yeesh you got me good" " how did-" " Morro. He said you went out alone and this just seems like somewhere you'd go." He hummed as I noticed the conversation I listened to stopped completely. I glanced behind Lloyd as I saw a boy around our age get up. He had dark skin and black hair. His body was covered in a blue turtle neck and orange apron as he walked around to our table. " Lloyd Garmadon?" He said with a smile.

" Uh, yeah?" " Haha! It's been a while. It's me, Brad!" " Brad? Oh Brad yeesh it has been a while!" Lloyd stood up and the two embraced. Another boy stood up. He was tan yet still a bit pale. He had glasses on with beaded strings on the sides to hold them if they fell. His gingerly orange hair swept in an obviously styled manner. He wore a black shirt and tan/beige trenchcoat. " Oh for fucks sakes we were just talking about you" " Ay Gene! No more lisp?" " I'm gonna kill myse-" " ahem, right (Y/n) these are two friends from my boarding school I went to as a kid." Lloyd introduced me to them and they joined our table.

" So, how has life been?" Lloyd asked, " Haven't really seen you since I got kicked out" " you were kicked out?" I mumbled. " Hehe..it was a, boarding school for bad boys. Future villains" he whispered as Brad nodded. " Really it just taught us to be assholes, look at this one" he gestured to Gene who smacked his hand away. Brad chuckled, " anyways, to answer your question, I've continued my passion in plants and now work in a flower shop." Brad informed, hands on top of his puffy coat that was too warm to wear in the cozy cafe. " I work in a library now and am planning on graduating a year early from high school. Get a scholarship to the best college too" Gene seemed to be too snarky.

Lloyd just chuckled, " yeah seems about right you, quote on quote, evil genius." " Hey!" The ginger snarled. " Hehe, what about you?" Brad asked. " Pain." Lloyd smiled casually. " Mmmm i bet. " Brad hummed as it was silent. " Sooo, Brad, Gene, you two went to school with Lloyd as kids. how was he like?" I asked with a smirk. Brad smirked as Lloyd gulped. I get to hear all the worst stories of Lloyd of when he was a little bitch. I was def gonna use it to pick on him later. For sure.
