"How does it feel to be Mckayla's progeny?" I stood at a distance listening to the few cubs asking Laurie questions like a cross examiner in a courtroom. Laurie seemed to be warming up to the pack but it was obvious she needed touch and comfort more than I ever needed in all my years. I didn't know of any Weres bitten in my pack. Matter of fact; I had never met a bitten Were. Laurie had everyone's interest peeked and I had to admit I was curious myself. But she wasn't a project to be studying on and she deserved space and time.

Laurie wrapped her arms around herself, a glaze in her eyes telling me she would need attention soon. She kept her eyes low to the floor from the cubs circling her. Most of them were dominant Weres. She spoke with a slight stutter. "I-I am not sure. I ju-just don't feel well when she's not around me."

One of the cubs lifted his chin up sniffing in her aroma. He smiled sheepishly when Laurie caught him, which I could see she hadn't taken to kindly. "You are definitely submissive. I guess you don't have our Alphas dominance and attitude."

A few of the cubs chuckled lightly and Laurie smiled shyly.

"You would think if Mckayla is going to turn a Were she would create a dominant one." Jerome walked up standing beside me. I could tell he hadn't shaved in the last few days, a light beard forming bringing out his more masculine features.

"I don't think it works like that." I walked off heading outside where I found Rachel and Sara in an intimate embrace.

Sara tilted her head to the side seeing me standing there. I wasn't trying to invade their moment but Sara looked already irritable by my presence. Rachel squeezed her arm tightly around Sara's waist to the point of making Sara wince at the strength she held over her. Rachel kissed her mate and Sara sighed.

Jerome stepped out onto the porch with me. "You never explained to me what you meant?" I looked over to him not comprehending his meaning. "About Laurie not being dominant like Kayla," he clarified.

I gave a half smile to Jerome and looked back to Rachel. She seemed different. My thoughts were cut off by the snarl from Sara. "Sara...I thought we were pass this?"

Sara tried controlling her anger, breathing through her nose. Rachel cupped her face, whispering something too low for me to hear in her ears.

"It's just been a long day Nina." Rachel decided to speak for her mate. "Pay her no mind."

Sara seemed to quiet her wolf as she spoke. "What is Jerome talking about?"

Good. I didn't mind the change of topic. It seemed to diminish the tension Sara had created. "I was just telling Jerome that just because Mckayla is dominant, doesn't mean the human she turns will be dominant too." They all seemed to be curious to my opinion. "Laurie was a human for already seventeen years...more than enough time to develop her own personality. As a human...I would suppose she was submissive...more submissive to what we are use to for humans."

"Making her a submissive wolf," Jerome finished.

   I nodded.

   "That makes sense," Rachel agreed.

I felt tingling in my extremities alerting me that something was wrong just as Marie came out calling me from the house.

I ran up the porch back into the house as I found a few of the cubs that was with Laurie standing awkwardly around.

"What happened?" I looked around not finding Laurie. "Where is she?"

A few pointed to the back as Marie spoke. "You will learn that this youngster..." Marie directed Kaylee to step up and face me, "is to blame for Laurie running off to the back. I would have went to the girl, but..."
