Grian's POV:

"Soooo, let me get this straight... You and Exy-zi-sooma are biological twins?" Grian questioned as he crouched down onto his knees, getting the boggy, swamp mud all over his pants . "Like, you had the same parents?" Grian had originally dropped the subject after noticing EX's hesitation, but it had been a day or two (Grian's lost count of the days since his crash, his communicator broke on impact so there was no way of seeing the date and it didn't seem too important to remember.) since the conversation and the short hermit felt it was a good time to bring it up again.

EX stopped what xe was doing and lifted xeir head to face Grian. "..Yes...He's my twin brother. Though I'm making it clear now, we're nothing alike."

Grian nodded. "Yeah you guys seem pretty different..." He looked distant for a moment, as if remembering something long past. "That's good though, nobody wants to just be a carbon copy of someone else."

Suddenly, there was a rustle from the tall grass and both the outcasts fell silent, slowly, Grian lifted lowly onto one knee before jumping forward into the mud, he rolled around for a few seconds, his sweater completely smothered in sticky mud. He finally sat up, a triumphant grin on his face.

"I GOT ONE!!" In his small hands, struggling slightly, was a large, brown frog. Unfortunately for Grian, the frog did not like the idea of being held.

"AHhhHHHHhH-" The frog kicked Grian's head hard, his grip faltering, allowing the frog to escape and shoving him even deeper into the mud. Above him, EX was laughing hysterically, almost falling over themself. "Don't laugh at me!!"

"It's very difficult not too when you're looking like that!"

"HEY, I'M CUTE!!"

"You're always cute!" EX froze as they realized what they'd said, although the shorter hadn't seemed to notice.

"Yeah, unlike you!!" Grian joked and for the smallest moment, EX looked hurt, but the look changed instantly so Grian shrugged it off.

Then, there was another rustle and they both went silent once more, looking at each other curiously.

'That didn't sound like a frog..." A wirling went off in the distance. EX paled as xe realized what the sound could have been.

"What was that..?" Grian asked cautiously, his voice quiet.

The alt's eyes narrowed slightly. "Could have been the wind, but it also sounded a concerning amount like a firework..."

"Should we....head back..?"

"Definitely."

(Mumbo's POV):

"Hey uh, Mumbo..." Iskall stands beside their friend, placing a hand onto his shoulder to snap him out of his trance. They had just come back from the all-day patrol, which Mumbo (And by extension, Iskall) had been attending every day X would let him for the best week and a half that Grian had been missing. "You've been going on way too many of these, you should take a break-"

"-No Iskall, I- I can't..." Mumbo sighed. "I just can't! Think about, Grian is out there somewher, possibly hurt, possibly...you know... And EX is still on the loose!!"

Iskall's expression shifted to a look of concern, whether it was for Grian or Mumbo himself, he couldn't tell. "Mumby, I get it, I really do. I'm worried about G as well, we all are. But I'm also worried about you, you've really been over-working yourself."

The redstoner looked down in shame, Iskall sighed and wrapped their arms around the taller, holding him close. "It'll be okay, we'll find him." Mambo squeezed his friend just a little bit tighter.

"Alright..."

"GUYS GUYS, WE FOUND HIM!!" The two let go of each other in shock and amazement.

"Really??"

The hermit who just landed, Beef (And Etho who seemed much less enthusiastic about the noise his friend was making) nodded then shifted his expression to a more serious one.

"Yes, but there's a...small problem...."
