WRITTEN: 01/17/23
FORMAT: new poem by me. this is when you don't survive the great war :(
Sweet dreaming, slowly creeping
Lurking from behind
Only good vibes compromise
Until your broken promises unleash
And teeter, like tree branches
Your words wither
On this winters night
The past only triggers
As bad luck chimes
I've already justified
All your solemn lies
So now truth pours down
Only paving for muddy ground
What about now?
You've got quite the nerve
To shy away, as I burn
Haven't you heard?
You're gasoline
You just burn me down
But the rain allowed me to captivate
Once fire lit ember
Now ashes of survival
Washed away, down the drain
We're out of time
We've only grown older
And perhaps older
Is the worst over?
No, I never forgot
Backstabbed and betrayed
We fought, 'til we were numb
I'm petrified, that we lost us
Forsaken, cause they won
With their swords and weapons
It was never a fair challenge
Alas, we've eclipsed
And I started it
Or was it them?
You? No, them.
It was them.
They left us in ruins
Scraped in bruises
And the scar
Darkened permanent
I recall the stitches
But we couldn't be woven back
No, it could never be as it was
Scratch the past
Let it fade away
Scratch the past
It only ever pains
Scratch the past
It holds too much ache
Scratch the past
Before it's too late
Fade away
You watched me fade away
And you resulted doing the same
Fade away
That's all we ever do
We just fade . . .
