Genre: Dream Pop with minor snyths
A/N: I was inspired to write this song because of Taylor Swift's 'This Love' bridge! The re-recorded version had been out for a month because of TSITP and 'This Love' was stuck in my mind because of how much I listened to 'This Love' after Taylor re-released it. I was initially very proud of this song, but at the time it felt so out of place in Sweet Misery because I was still going for a different vibe in June for that songbook.
I think after that one unpublished, unreleased chapter in my drafts that I wrote for my book Haunted, in which I used 'This Love' for the basis of that chapter, so my mind is like gAY sOnG because of the context in which I used the song for in that chapter. Ofc it's not actually a gay song, Taylor is straight, but ahaha my mind still associates 'This Love' with gayness-
Oh yeah, btw, this song has 4 verses, so enjoy!
INTRO/CHORUS:
i watched you leave
you left me to bleed
right on two knees
why would you do that to me?
you fell right into his arms
along with that, you broke my heart
i watched you leave
and it tore me apart
1ST VERSE:
summer days and fourth of july
soon fluxed into late, winter nights
when i'd lay wide awake
as the thought of you was the only thought in my mind
at first, i didn't think it'd lead to much
i was wrong, it did
a little more than enough, if i dare convey to say
you filled right in my empty void
and after that, nothing would ever be the same
CHORUS:
i watched you leave
you left me to bleed
right on two knees
why would you do that to me?
you fell right into his arms
along with that, you broke my heart
i watched you leave
and it tore me apart
2ND VERSE:
so i went, madly in love then
but you, you never knew it
and never will, as long as i live
secrets and sins, all bottled in
tormented in my worst intentions to forget
i lost it all in my head
as the thought of you continued to creep in
CHORUS:
i watched you leave
you left me to bleed
right on two knees
why would you do that to me?
you fell right into his arms
along with that, you broke my heart
i watched you leave
and it tore me apart
3RD VERSE:
it was madness indeed
out of all the people i knew
you soon became my priority
little did i know, it was all time wasted
i wasn't in your mind like i wish i was
i was wrong, ofcourse i was
it was just a stupid crush
you loved someone better
someone who could never be me
oh, never in a million years
unless fate decided to interfere
though i doubt that
cause you are who you are
and so i wished upon a star
as i watched you leave me
CHORUS:
i watched you leave
you left me to bleed
right on two knees
why would you do that to me?
you fell right into his arms
along with that, you broke my heart
i watched you leave
and it tore me apart
BRIDGE:
a stupid crush indeed
i'm over it, way past it
oh, but how could i forget?
you ran to him instead of me
and it hurts like hell
it makes me want to bawl my eyes out
but i got to grow up now
a stupid crush that'll never be
you should've never been my priority
in the end, i watched you leave
4TH VERSE:
yeah, you left me . . .
stranded, but it's no paradise
cause this time, i don't know if i'll ever love again
or if anyone will ever love me back
cause it seems as no matter who i fall for
they never feel the same like i do
a concussion of a breakthrough
moments when i knew i loved you
and planned to tell you
someday . . . never
now i know, it would've ended in disaster
i loved you
i loved you
i loved you
I LOVED YOU.
OUTRO:
oh, i loved you.
and i watched you leave.
