A/N: I have no idea what to say about this song cause I have no idea why I wrote it in the first place or what was the inspiration for it anyways. I think it's the sad sequel to this silly song I wrote when I was 13 called "My World" which is btw the title to my first songbook posted on wattpad. I'm re-reading it rn and wow... that is just wow. Guess I've always thought love is embarrassing as hell despite being a hopeless romantic. iNtErEsTiNg. Also, 13 y/o me on wp was so annoying, I cringe. What was I even doing?-
INTRO/CHORUS:
you were my world 'til it fell apart
you didn't even bother to hold me in your arms
or asked if i was alright
you broadly assumed i was fine... really, was i?
1ST VERSE:
you weren't my world
but actually my cognitive distance
that i needed to run from
loving you corrupted in fines
that i couldn't afford to pay off
so instead i vandalized all sane thoughts
when it came to my sufficient state of mind
i deceived myself, swearing you were the one
i cared too deeply; fell right into your charm
and that's how you broke my heart
CHORUS:
you were my world 'til it fell apart
you didn't even bother to hold me in your arms
or asked if i was alright
you broadly assumed i was fine... really, was i?
you were my world until the orbit eclipsed
and i realized how many opportunities i had missed
and all because you held me back
you weren't my world after all
2ND VERSE:
is it too late for you to make things right?
let me ask you this:
is it too late to bring a deceased person back to life?
the life you sucked right out of her?
only to discard her the second it doesn't work
my god, you really have no clue how bad that hurts
you know, i hope you get what you deserve
with that in mind, you don't get a goodbye
from the only girl you've every really known
CHORUS:
you were my world 'til it fell apart
you didn't even bother to hold me in your arms
or asked if i was alright
you broadly assumed i was fine... really, was i?
you were my world until the orbit eclipsed
and i realized how many opportunities i had missed
and all because you held me back
you weren't my world after all
BRIDGE:
you were my world, 'til you let go
i've learned now how the real world works now
you truly were downtown; the town that brought me down
soft and slow, you took advantage
little did i know, you'd be sly to vanish
a vicious obstacle course i can't skate my way through
i really thought i knew you
until the remorse in your eyes twitched
oh, how could i think you were any different?
from every other guy that diminished
no, you were never any different
OUTRO:
you were my world til it fell apart
you were my world until the orbit eclipsed
and i realized how many opportunities i had missed
and all because you held me back
you weren't my world after all
