Chapter 1: New Day

Jax's POV
I've been on my own for a few days. Everything was alright at First but then when I notice I would be losing sources, then I may have not have much time at all. I don't wanna be looting or anything but if it seems I have To, well I have to in order to survive. I was in the forest and looking at the scenery of Nevada. Or at least it was probably. I don't think I walked that far out of state. The place I was at to serve my time was in a middle of nowhere sorta.
I would call out my girlfriends name everywhere sometimes.

"Sadie! Are you here?!"

No response. I don't wanna believe she is gone yet. I know she is still safe with her family and that's why I'm trying to find Las Vegas. After 4 hours I finally found the city. I was ecstatic! But then I actually went into the city, everything I mean everything was destroyed or abandoned. I even saw a few walkers here and there but they don't seem to notice me. I finally found Sadie's family home. And my fears were granted. It was abandoned too.

"Oh my fucking god.." Jax walked in the place through a window cause well the door was nailed shut.
Jax looked and yes everything was abandoned and a mess.
And Jax even saw some of the dead bodies and Jax recognize them. It was Sadie's family members. Her mom and dad. Jax felt bad and Jax just wanted to leave but Jax needed to find Sadie. Jax looked in the kitchen, no one but blood smeared on the floor, they looked upstairs in the bathroom and bedrooms, nothing. Jax looked in Sadie's old bedroom, and it was a mess. Jax then looked around and found another photo of their and Sadie. It was 3 years ago. A week before the arrest happen. It was Jax and Sadie with their friends celebrating Jax's 18th birthday. Jax remember that night and smiled. Jax put the photo in their pack back

Jax POV:
I then decided to head down and see if I could find food, my luck was good. I found some food that is in cans. I put a lot of it in my backpack. But then after packing I heard growling. I looked and it was a Walker!

Jax is in shock and tries to run but then the Walker grabs their leg but then Jax managed to escape by kicking it. Jax then grabbed a screwdriver and a hammer for defense
Jax then looked in more shock to realize who the Walker was. It was Sadie. Jax was in disbelief that Sadie was one of the walkers.
"I..I'm sorry Sadie please forgive me.. I need to put you out of your misery!" Jax then hit the Walker in the head with the hammer and slightly covered in blood and hit the Walker again and again. 4 times and it was dead.

Jax POV:
I was in shock when I found out Sadie turned into one of them. I wanted to cry but I must be brave. I didn't even wanna kill her but I must out of her misery.

"Sadie... I'm sorry.. I didn't want to.. I wanted us to survive this but I guess you did for a while but then didn't make it.." Jax said tearfully
Jax then went outside and found some walkers approaching them. Jax then ran and ran but fail
Was this the end for Jax?
All of a sudden the walkers were shoot out of nowhere and Jax looked around and found two people. One was in a dark red jacket with a dark brown color and a grey shirt and jeans with glasses. The person had short brown hair and the other had a green jacket and hair in a ponytail and a flannel shirt and jeans
"Are you alright?!" The ponytail one shouted
"I am fine! I was just trying to escape! Thank you.." Jax shouted back
They then run up to them and helped them get up
"Agh crap!" Jax said in pain. They then pulled up their pants leg and it was injured from the fall
"Oh no don't tell me your bitten." The short brown hair said
"No! I was running from them and I tripped on this barrier!"
The ponytail one looked and she inspected the leg injury
"Yeah that's a Injury from that."
"Good.." the short brown hair said
"Well let us take you to the group and we will fix you up."
"Thank you.. oh the name is Jax."
"The name is Jenny Smith" the ponytail girl said
"Name is Jace Curious." The short brown hair said
"Nice to meet y'all all. And thanks for taking me in."
"Oh no problem." Jenny said
They all began to walk
Jace then whispered to Jenny
"Are you sure we can trust them? They are trust worthy but we don't need any more risks."
"I'm sure. Plus they can help us with everyone and also protect us from Mason."
"Yeah.. ugh I hate that bastard."
"We all do"

Jax POV:
I don't like people talking behind my back but then hearing that made me more confident. We walked and back in the woods and found a cabin like house. It was 2 stories. It looked nice and honestly I'm glad to not be alone. But then I still regret what I done to Sadie and I still miss Sadie. I'm trying to not think it and move on.
