Chapter 12: A New Home (Finale)

Jace POV:
It's been a day since I got bit, I started to develope fatigue but I'm determined to spend my last hours with Tycho. I'm doing my last training with him to make sure he knows what to do and hopefully he'll be okay after I'm gone."

At the place, Tycho is getting his stuff ready for the day and Jace, Jill and Jax are at the gate
Jill is trying to not cry
"Jill it's going to be okay.. I'm going to be okay soon. I will be pain free."
"I know.. I just don't wanna see you gone." Jill hugs Jace
"I know.. I'll say hi for you to your parents and brother." Jace said hugging back
"Please say hi to Sadie for me.." Jax said
"I will." Jace said
"Alright Tycho let's go!" Jace said and Tycho heads out

Jace and Tycho head out and go to the lake and they are on a boat
"So when fishing, be sure to not tug so hard or you can be thrown into the lake. I learned that the hard way the first few times." Jace chuckles
Tycho puts the fishing rod in the lake and then gets a tug and Tycho slightly tugs on it
"Got it!" Tycho said
"That's good Tycho!" Jace hugs him
They both smile
Later at the Garden
"So when picking veggies, be sure to be careful on stuff like tomato's. You could accidentally tug on it too hard and it'll be a mess. Also when preparing lettuce, be sure hit it on the counter 3 times to get rid of the hard core."
"Ooh sounds fun."
"It is. Now wanna go ahead and get the milk and head back?"
"Sure!"
Jace and Tycho paddled back to the docks and walked to the shed
"That's weird."
"What?"
"Normally the cows could be mooing."
"Hm. Must be quiet."
Jace opens the door and all of a sudden the cows were not only gone but a bunch of walkers are in the cages and Jace and Tycho are in shock
"Mom!!"
"I know I see it.." Jace then feels I'll and their skin has turned more to a lighter color
"Mom!!!!"
"Tycho.. I need to be truthful.."
Jace sits down and motions Tycho to do the same and he sits down beside them
Jace unwraps the bandage showing the infection bite and Tycho is in shock and tears form in his eyes.
"Mom.. please no..!"
"Tycho Tycho! It's okay.. ish. Yeah it's bad but I'll be able to watch you and be there for you and when I'm not here.. your father will do the same!" Jace said
"Mom.. I don't wanna shoot you please!" Tycho begins to cry
"Wait.. do we... no.. we don't.."
"I don't either.. no guns.."
Tycho looks around
"We can get out and get help C'mon please!" Tycho said
"Tycho.. I can't even.. I'm not really feeling good.. just.. your going to have to leave me here.."
"No!! Please!!"
"I'm sorry son.." Jace coughs
Tycho cries and hugs Jace tightly and they hug him back

Jace and Tycho look around and Tycho sees a pickaxe
"That can help you defeat the walkers.. there isn't a lot Just strike them in the head." Jace said
Tycho then picks it up and gets the pickaxes and strikes the few walkers in the head. His jacket is slightly covered in blood.
"I did good!"
"Wonderful.." Jace coughs again and their condition is more worse."
"Tycho.. your going have to leave me.. or kill me.."
"Please mom no!"
"Tycho.. what is the first rule?"
"Kill the one who got bit and so they don't suffer."
"Exactly.."
"Please no...!"
"It's okay Tycho.. I taught you what I needed to teach you."
Tychos tear form out of his eyes and he grabs the pickaxe again
"I.. love you.."
"I love you too.. son.."
Then the axe is swung

2 years later
In a New undamaged and survival city, the only places that weren't affected were Sunset Valley
It's a new Sunny day and at a two story house
In the living room, there is a urn and a picture of Pascal in the frame
In the kitchen, Jax is finished cooking and serves lunch
"Foods ready!"
A 10 year old Tycho and 19 year old Jill rushes down stairs to eat
"Man.. this is the best sandwich I had in years." Jill said
"Yeah. Honestly I'm just glad that sunset valley wasn't damaged or anything.. now we can just call this place home."
Someone then walks downstairs and enters the kitchen
"Ooh sounds like Jax here made her famous chicken sandwich."
"Yeha and it is the best mom!" Tycho said and he hugs Jace
"So how are things going?"
"Good. No pain in the arm."
Jace then settles down at the table and eats
"Thank you again.. I always say this and have been for 2 years but thanks for saving me Tycho.. I love you."
"I love you too."
They hug and the family resumes eating

Jax POV:
I'm glad to see Jace being alive and well. Yeah their right arm being amputated is difficult and all but things have been going good. We found out that a few weeks ago, There is a cure for zombism and sadly though.. Pascal CAN'T be revived. But we made a special place for him. Me and Jace gotten really close along with the kids. Jill said she'll still stay with us even after being an adult. I'm glad to see Jill being more mature and grown over the years. I can't believe it's been 10 years since the dead rise. When we found out about Sunset Valley being the city that was good to be in. We immediately moved there 1 year ago. To be honest I decided to go back to jail to finish my time but after my heroic experiences and all. They dropped the charges. I'm glad they did. Now me and Jace are rising Tycho. We are planning on adding more to our family soon. I hope you enjoyed this story. This is Jax signing out.
