The following weeks were relatively peaceful, other than the men being sent on general nearby scouting missions you thankfully had very little to tend to in the way of injuries, save for the odd sprain or graze.
You'd spent the morning sat around attempting to find something for you to do when you heard a commotion from down the hall. At first you considered just ignoring it, if there was one thing you'd become accustomed to it was the various odd screams and shouts of the men generally acting fools around each other. This time probably wasn't any different.
"Roach, hurry up! I think he's actually gonna do it this time!"
A young soldier that you didn't recognise ran past the infirmary door with Roach following soon after at a slower pace,
"Psh yeah right, it'll end how it always does."You stood up from your desk, quickly pacing over to the door and waving to Roach to grab his attention. He smiled and gave a slight nod,
"Good morning, Doc, you good?"
You gave a nod and gestured in the direction that the other soldier ran towards.
"Morning, Roach, what's all the fuss?"
Roach gave a sigh and shrugged rather nonchalantly.
"Oh, that? Price figured healthy competition between 141 and KorTac would strengthen bonds when we first merged together, what with us initially being at loggerheads n' all.""Healthy competition?"
You repeat in a questioning manner.Roach gave a nod.
"I guess it's been out of ear shot each time we've held one, but every week we have a sparring match to see who's the strongest and to keep us on our toes, so far König is undefeated."Your eyes widened slightly, "König?"
The soldier nods again, "The very same. No one's been able to make him tap out yet, the dudes a fucking machine. Guess it doesn't help that he's built like a fucking tree."
Without waiting to hear your response Roach gave you a quick salute before jogging down the hall towards the sound of cheering voices. Immediately you followed the same direction that he took and upon rounding the corner into the mess hall you felt like you'd been suddenly plunged into a makeshift underground fighting pit.
All of the chairs and tables had been gathered up and stacked to one side, the operatives from both the 141 and KorTac had formed a ring around two men in the centre of the room who, at a first glance, looked to be trying to kill each other.
You hopped up onto one of the unstacked chairs to stand above the sea of soldiers in front of you to get a better look, what you saw, quite frankly, was terrifying.
Ghost and König, had each other in a headlock and both seemingly were at an impasse. The two men were drenched in sweat and the floor was smeared in what looked to be droplets of blood.
The most alarming thing to you however, was that König wasn't wearing the sniper hood that you'd seen him in every other time. The man was fucking beautiful.
His dirty blonde hair was tied up into a messy bun atop his head, you guessed that if he didn't have it tied up it would be around shoulder length and a few stray strands of it were hanging in front of his face. A large scar ran over the bridge of his nose and onto either side of his cheekbones, it almost acted as a contour to his features and a light smattering of dark stubble graced his equally scarred chin. Even with the blood freely running down his evidently busted lip the man looked like a fucking god.
