The moment your alarm abruptly woke you from a rather restless night sleep you were up, dressed and quickly making your way to Captain Price's quarters.
You'd sent the captain a quick email the moment König had left the infirmary to inform him that you needed to speak with him first thing in the morning, he must not have been doing much at the time because he replied back to you almost instantly.
You tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear as you quietly padded down the hallway and to Price's office. You knocked on the splintering wood surface and waited to be invited in, you noticed a shadow blocking the light from under the doorframe and moments later the door swung open.
"Ah. Hallo, Doctor."
You were mortified to see that it was König that opened the door, his face uncovered. You'd only seen him once before without his sniper hood on and it was very briefly but you remembered every little detail about his features...So why seeing his face again made your chest feel like it was about to burst from the sheer excitement was beyond you.
The huge soldier leaned against the doorframe, his eyes half lidded and seemingly unimpressed with your presence. You made it clear to him the day before that you'd be talking to Price regarding Königs injuries and the upcoming mission.
The fact that the sneaky fucker got up even earlier than you and must have arranged to speak to the 141 captain purposefully before you, quite frankly, boiled your piss. Did this great big Austrian idiot have no regard for his own well-being?
"Seems I'm popular today...'av a seat." Price sighed.
The captain was laid back in his chair, one of his boots resting firmly on the table between you as he gestured to the seat in front of you.
For a moment you continued to study Königs face, your eyes narrowing slightly over how smug the Austrian was to have been first to visit the captain.
You said nothing to König, giving him a curt nod and brushing past him to take a seat in closer proximity opposite Price.
Prices expression was unreadable as he regarded you quietly for a moment before reaching for his cup and take a long slake of his drink, it looked to be tea.
"Go on then?" Price muttered to you from behind his cup.
Your tired eyes widened a little as you cleared your throat and got straight to the point.
"Sir, I'd like to request that König be grounded for this upcoming mission."
Price regarded you for a moment, his eyes seemingly flicking between you and König who was still stood behind you.
"And why do you think that's necessary?" The captain asked simply.
"Sir, the nature of Königs injuries will hinder his ability to hold a firearm as well as affect his overall reliability and consistency with the other team members who you've picked."
"That's a lot of big words this early in the morning, Doctor." Price sighed, causing you to straighten up a little in your chair.
"To put it simply, sir. Königs injuries aren't nearly healed enough to go out on a mission. I believe him going is putting himself and the soldiers who go with him needlessly at risk."
You felt a lump form in your throat as Königs heavy footsteps approached you from behind, it took everything you had to not turn around to look at his stupid stubborn beautiful face. You'd no doubt that he was pissed off at you, you were, after all, getting in the way of his job. But this was your job and you weren't about to let an injured soldier be given a clean bill of health to go out there and potentially get himself and others killed just because he gets restless being on the base.
