Oh, usernames.

Don't even get me started on this one.

So, like, everytime I Sign-up onto a new app that requires an account, I always seem to have trouble picking out a username. Like, even here! On Wattpad! Honestly, this username I have right now(@nitelitecandy) is my THIRD attempt. It's just. . . Whenever I finally have a username, it's like I'm not contented with it. And I'm that 'No Regrets' kind of person, so whenever I'm told to pick something out, I take ages and seriously AGES thinking of one that I would like FOREVER. And a username is something you should like forever.

So, in picking out a username, I learned that . . .

Don't use your real name.
Okay, this one is a tad bit ironic. I mean, it's a USErNAME(pun intended), so why not use my real name? Because eventually, you'd regret it. If you're a 'No Regrets' kind of person, then you'd understand why you should rather choose a username that doesn't have your real name in it rather than choosing a username with your name in it, while ending up regretting it. Seriously, I know this by experience.
Why will you regret it?
Because first, it keeps yourself in a more public, open light. Unless, of course, you're okay with publicity, then sure! It's all up to you. But for those who like their privacy, I suggest you DO NOT use your real name.
Second, it's a username, for crying out loud! Okay. Let's say your name is Marie. (If your name is Marie in real life, then laugh it off, and go with the flow.)
When you're not logged in to your account, your name will ALWAYS be Marie. Everyone would KNOW YOU and CALL YOU by your name, which is Marie. But, when you are logged in, (which is the situation we're having right now), it's like grabbing the chance to get yourself another name that isn't orchestrated by reality, which you could mix and match and spice up a bit. Which is, undeniably, cooler and more fun. In my opinion.

Do not use too much personal information about yourself in a username.
Avoid birthmonths, but birthday dates, like the day you were born, of course are okay, if ever you want to put a number beside your username. Numbers are actually cool with it, so, like, you could give out this sort of 'mystery vibe' as to why you chose that certain number. Oh and also, maybe you should avoid cartoon characters such as Dora or Tweety or something. But it's totally, totally up to you.

and lastly. . .

Do not hesitate to mix and match and let your Inner Weirdness take over.
Who says you couldn't have a username like, captain_australia or something? It's absolutely up to you how you want to pattern out words and make themsound catchy and inviting.
And guys, I strongly believe that everybody has an Inner Weirdness.
I mean, people go making stuff like Inner Demons so there's got to be an Inner Weirdness, right? Don't be afraid to let that part of you show. Why? Because I'm pretty sure it's something worth showing.
