The Meeting

Akechi entered the warehouse. It was almost empty, except for a few men and an office in the back. It was dimly lit, except for the one shining down a table set up in the middle of the building. He almost couldn't contain his emotions when he saw him.

Masayoshi Shido... Finally we meet...

He slowly approached the table. There were several chairs, but to Shido's side was only the director sitting down. Behind them, a couple of thugs waited, one almost as big as the Closer, the other smaller. They were seemingly uninterested as to what was taking place. As Akechi was closer, the big one came up to him with a metal detector.

"I guess I should give you this." Akechi said as he pulled out his gun and handed it to the man. The thug put it away and began scanning Akechi thoroughly from the chest down. When he was satisfied he made a motion to Akechi towards a chair right in front of Shido. Akechi sat down, took out his baseball hat and placed it in front of the two men.

"Hello sir," said Akechi to Shido with a fake smile, "It's an honor to finally meet you!" As he spoke, he extended his hand forward.

Shido looked at the gesture and said nothing. Instead, he looked towards the director.

"Let's not waste any time," said the director, "Atsuki, You asked for this meeting because you claim there's an imminent danger to our organization, something that can derail the plans we've carefully executed for years. So, what is it?"

Akechi put his hand away. "Of course sir. I'm going to have to ask you both to have an open mind about this, as I know it's going to be hard to believe... Honestly I could barely believe it myself at first. I found out that a single man has enough evidence to take everyone but Mister Shido down, and enough capabilities to disrupt the public opinion and mess with the election too."

"A single man? That's ridiculous." said the director.

"He's not a normal man, although he certainly is very capable at disguising himself as one. That's how he's been able to operate and cause every single one of the setbacks we've had over the last few months."

At this, Shido seemed interested. "Every single one?" Shido asked.

"Yes sir. The fall of Medjed, Kaneshiro's capture, the information that was leaked about the party, and even plans we had to get rid of Okumura in a less conspicuous way. He's behind it all."

"And how did he do all of this? Does this man have magical powers?" asked the director.

"To you, they might as well be." replied Akechi, not trying to hide the sarcasm. The director looked at him clearly annoyed. "But not to me..." continued Akechi, "As you know, I'm pretty adept with technology... Using my expertise and while tracking the director's protégé, the Niijima woman, I made a couple of startling discoveries. One, that the one that took down Medjed, the renowned hacktivist known as Alibaba, lives in Tokyo. Two, that Alibaba is none other than... Akira Kurusu."

"Babe... You have to stop pacing around. You know they'll be safe at Okumura's. I mean, you said yourself their security is top notch and that the place was built like a fortress." said Tae.

"I know..." replied Sae, "But I'm still worried. Maybe we should all have gone there, that way at least I could protect them as well."

"Yeah, quite the pijama party that would be." cut in Iwai, "A bunch of teenagers, a barista, a doctor, a journalist, a prosecutor and an ex-yakuza. The ghost stories we could tell."

"It would have been too suspicious, Niijima-san" said Ohya.

"The important thing is that we're all safe. I'm worried too, but those kids have proven they can take care of themselves. By the way, has Futaba told you anything yet?" asked Sojiro.
