I didn't know what to feel after I felt my heart get run over a million times by a hundred trucks in a span of second.

Victory was written all over Chloe's face when she saw me. She gave me a wink before kissing Luke one last time and exiting the room.

Luke ran towards me.

"Joey, I-"

"Luke, it's okay. I understand." I said, my voice shaking.

"No, you don't-" He tried explaining but I cut him off.

"Yes, I do." I forced a smile. More like a grimace. I felt my eyes sting again so I began to walk away, towards the exit where Chloe went to.

"Joey, please let me explain." He pleaded, grabbing my hand. God damn it. I couldn't even see a single emotion on his face.

I pulled away, turning to face him. "You don't have to. Clearly, you got what you wanted and I hope you're happy with her. It was stupid of me to actually believe that you still liked me. Honestly, Luke, if you didn't like me, you could've just told me." I looked at him. His eyes were glossy.

"Who am I kidding, right? Chloe? She's hot." I forced a laugh but I was already crying.

"She's the perfect match for you." I continued, feeling myself break inside.

"Joey," Luke whispered.

"If I could repeat the past, would I?" I looked at him straight in the eye. Those beautiful eyes that were mesmerizing and cruel at the same.

"No. Not again." I answered myself, walking away. I let the tears fall freely down my cheeks.

I never felt so stupid. I couldn't believe that I fell for that, thinking that he actually had feelings for me. He got me wrapped around his finger the moment we met again back in that party. Was I that easy?

"Joey!" I heard Luke call but I just kept walking.

I felt his hand grab my arm, spinning me around to face him.

"What, Luke?" I spat, forcefully pushing his hand away from me.

"Please let me explain." He said in a calm voice.

"What's there to explain?" I practically yelled. I felt like crying again.

"A lot." He raised his voice, his jaw tightening.

"Well, I don't want to hear it because I saw a lot already." I told him, turning around once again.

He pulled me back to him. This time trapping me in his hold. I hit his chest with my fists but he didn't let go. I kept going until my hands started to feel weak, slowly giving up. I just wanted this day to be over. I want to go back home and forget about all of this.

He never let go of me. The sound of his heartbeat was soothing, his ragged breathing and my frequent hiccups-from crying so much- filled the room.
