All day I've been mobbed, threatened and given mean glares at. All because of one person. Yes, I get that I'm hanging out with the Luke Hemmings, but it isn't a crime for an average person like me to be seen with him. It's not like we're anything more. We were.

I finished my exams not too long ago and I'm now celebrating with Bailey here in my apartment. I insisted we stay here because I couldn't take the outside world anymore.

"The food will be here in about twenty minutes or something." Bailey says and falls beside me on the couch.

"Officially summer break." I say out loud and get comfortable on my seat.

"Yes! Thank God." Bailey cheers, clapping.

We talk about what we're going to do. Bailey will be out of the country for the entire summer so I am left alone. Maybe I can go back home.

"What's up with you and Luke?" She asks all of a sudden.

"What about us?"

"I don't know. You guys seem to be hanging out a lot." She shrugs, looking up at me from our cramped position on the couch.

"What's wrong with that?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Nothing." She smiles innocently.

"Okay." I nod slowly and turn to the TV.

-

Mum welcomes me with open arms and I run to her.

"Missed you, mum." My voice was muffled because of her hair in my mouth.

"Missed you too, honey."

"Where's John?" I squint inside the house.

"At work." She sighs, smiling. "Let's go inside."

I nod and grab my bag on the floor and follow her inside.

My mum and I were in the middle of a conversation when my phone buzzed inside my pocket. I pull it out and see Luke calling.

I swipe to answer, "Hello?"

"Where are you?" Luke asked in a rush.

"I'm at home." I said, unsure.

"No, you're not." He scoffs.

"I mean I'm here back home." I mentally roll my eyes.

"Oh." He mutters. "I came by to ask if you wanna hang out, but your door was locked and the lights were off. I tried calling Bailey but she wouldn't answer. Why didn't you tell me?"

I let out a sigh, "Sorry."

"Its okay. Can I visit you there, though?" He chuckles.

"Of course! Your mum will be glad you finally decided to show up." I teased.

"I visited her last week!" He defends.

"Doesn't look like it." I smirk even if he couldn't see me.

"I'll be there in an hour, okay?" Honestly, the university I study isn't far from here unless you take the long cut, then of course it would take an hour.

"Bye, Luke." I sing song, smiling.

"Bye, Joey."

He hangs up and reality pulls me out of my short daze. Luke wanting to see me today makes my heart flutter and I couldn't stop the smile forming on my face.

"Was that. . .Luke?" Mum asks and I jump a little on my seat because I forgot she was there.

"I, um, uh, I. . .yes." I stutter.

"He's back from his European study tour?" She tilts her head to the side.

"Well, uh," I remember lying to my mum that Luke and I won't be seeing each other because he was going to a study tour. I didn't want to tell her we broke up because I didn't want her to see me break down every time. And I didn't want her to ask me about it. "Yes."

She smiles and leans back on her seat. "We should invite him and his family for dinner tonight! I haven't seen Liz in a while!"

"Liz lives across the street." I pointed out.

"I'll call her right now." She ignored me, sliding the telephone towards her.

"You go do that." I tell her before leaving the kitchen and running up to my room.

I scan through all my clothes, hoping to find something nice to wear. I find a light blue dress with a round collar. It was actually cute and it kind of looks like Geordie's (Michael's ex) dress but pink. I try it on and find matching shoes and attempt to style my hair.

I wanted to look decent in front of the Hemmings family, there's no harm in doing that. I run to the bathroom to take a quick shower and fix myself before they come over. I guess Luke will come later since he just left my apartment.

I'm very sorry for this sucky chapter. :-(
