Kancetto was more presentable as a youngster; his hair remained on the long side remaining a dark brown but had been trimmed, and his eyes, which kept their blue colour, had a gaze that made him appear as though he was always looking far away. His face remained triangular in shape. He was seven years old and shared a class with other younglings, including fellow younglings like seven-year-old Silara Lissiri a human from the planet Naboo, a girl with a strong philosophy of the Jedi Order who often enjoyed the company of her peers, aside one in particular that being Kancetto, she was slightly younger than Kancetto but only by a few months. Silara had long brown hair, round blue eyes, fair skin and an slim oval face. Janhas, another human, was slightly older than the pair of Kancetto, and Silara, aged eight, was from the planet Stewjon. He too had brown hair, and his eyes shared the same brown colour as his hair and he was fair skinned. He had grand visions of how the Jedi Order should be and what it should mean. An idealist of the order. Janhas was mature beyond his years and believed in the Jedi Code very strongly, more so than any of his peers. Unlike all his peers, Janhas did not have a last name. It was common knowledge he was left at the Jedi Temple as an infant, but the only thing he came with was a letter with his name, his home planet, and a plea from the writer of the letter to look after her little Janhas. Janhas would often share his philosophy, which Kancetto and Silara would listen to closely, while the other classmates heard but never really seemed to listen.

Kancetto and Silara did not exactly get along. They had conflicting views of the Order and the Code and would often be trying to prove themselves at the expense of the other, whether that be in their academic work or practical work with their training sabers. The pair worked to be better than each other at deflecting blaster bolts in sabre-to-sabre combat, both trying to one-up each other. Going one way one day and another way the other day. Kancetto and Silara's rivalry ran with them throughout their times as younglings, but nobody knows how or why exactly it started. If Silara and Kancetto were to be honest, they probably do not even remember exactly how the rivalry started. It just started, for whatever reason.

Kancetto, Janhas, and Silara, along with the rest of their class, were deemed worthy to head to Ilum to retrieve their Kyber crystals. There was excitement onboard the shuttle. Kancetto was sitting next to Janhas. Silara was with some of her fellow classmates. Silara tolerated Janhas and did not mind being around him, but with Kancetto, her ability to tolerate was questioned. Many of the talks happening were about what they were going to do with their lightsaber once they got it. Some had grand claims of becoming the greatest duelist within the Order. challenging the likes of Master Yoda and Master Dooku and beating them in lightsaber combat. Janhas, along with Kancetto and Silara, reserved themselves from making claims they could not back up, at least not yet. Janhas and Kancetto were discussing how they wanted their lightsaber to look and the colour of their lightsaber. Silara listened in on their conversation, often having to be brought into the conversation at the table she sat at.

"So Silara, who will you defeat with your lightsaber?" an excitable and curious classmate blurted.

Silara did not speak a word but pointed towards Kancetto. The classmates looked over, and Kancetto did not speak a word but simply gazed at Silara, not giving her any reaction but still acknowledging her without giving her the satisfaction of a reaction. Silara walked over to Kancetto.

"On Ilum, I reckon I will find my crystal before you and get back before you." Silara had confidence in her words.

"You're going to find it difficult to judge who got their crystal first unless somehow our crystals are at the same place, which from what I hear is unlikely." Maybe you should have just bet on the fact that you'd get back first." Kancetto, with his response, had won the war of words, as Janhas put his maturity to good use and split them up.
