Kancetto Kryze - The Mandalorian Jedi

Omega

Master Shaak Ti and her padawan Kancetto Kryze had been sent to the planet of Aargau after the Jedi Order received valuable and reliable intelligence that Granta Omega was on the planet and in the city of New Escrow. Granta was responsible for Master Yaddle sacrificing herself as she, using the Force, absorbed the blast of the bioweapon he intended to inflict upon the city of Naatan and the planet of Mawan.

Granta Omega is a human male criminal, the son of the Dark Jedi Xanatos, and the grandson of Telosian Governor Crion. Omega had vowed revenge against the Jedi Order, as he blamed them for the death of his father, not wanting to accept or believe that Xanatos did in fact commit suicide.

Granta Omega possessed highly developed skills of deception; more than once, he escaped detection while right under the Jedi's noses. Omega was a Force Blank—a being with no connection to the Force who could cloak himself as if he were in a "void"—essentially shrouding himself from all detection by Force-sensitives. He used this to his advantage. People forgot they had seen him, or if they did remember him, they often could not quite place the face or how he'd originally appeared to them.

Aargau is a planet in the Zug system of the Core Worlds region, not far from Coruscant and the Corellian Run. It served as the headquarters for the Bank of Aargau, which was part of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, which also ran the planet. Aargau was also affiliated with the Galactic Republic.

Aargau is a central location in the Core Worlds region; it is in close proximity to the politically important world of Coruscant. Aargau had many hyperspace lanes close by. They were actually surrounded by hyperspace lanes that ran to and from the planet itself, such as the Corellian Run and the Ag Circuit. Thanks to this, combined with a culture fixated on banking and finance, as well as enormous reserves of valuable metals, the planet became an economic powerhouse. Several governments, corporations, and organisations stored their assets in the planet's thousands of secure vaults.

Most of the surface of Aargau was like that of a city, though not to the scale of Coruscant being a complete city in itself. The same could not be said for Aargau. While the higher, newer levels of the cities were home to the planet's political and financial power, the millions of years-old lower levels, referred to as the undercity, were home to a seedier element, which included members of the Hutt Desilijic clan. Due to Aargau's unique laws, this group of people were free to conduct their somewhat shady business mostly in peace.

Shaak and Kancetto knew that catching Granta would be a difficult task. Granta was skilled in deception, and his being a Force Blank meant he was undetectable to any being that could use the Force, meaning he was able to escape the Jedi on a few occasions without being detected. Furthermore, Shaak believed and told Kancetto that the fact they knew Granta was on Aargau and in the city of New Escrow would more than likely be a tactic of deception to make it appear as though he had made a mistake in getting noticed, when in truth he would have done it to lure the Jedi out for him to ensnare them into a trap he would have prepared for them.

However, part of the reason the Jedi Council sent Shaak Ti along with her padawan Kancetto was due to them having built a reputation as strategists. Kancetto had demonstrated his strategic capabilities on Mytaranor, where he created a slave uprising, bringing an end to the slave operation. Shaak was also a master of subtlety and preferred to outsmart her opponents. She was the mastermind behind why Kancetto ended up in the slave facility on Mytaranor to begin with, with Shaak trusting that her padawan possessed the strategic mind to get the job done. She preferred unorthodox tactics and outside-the-box plans, with her methods also involving deception.

Some Jedi were critical of Shaak Ti's use of deception, as they considered it a tactic of the Sith. The Jedi Council believed, though, that with Shaak's unorthodox plans and her use of deception, she, along with her padawan, represented the best chance for the Jedi Order to catch Granta Omega.
