Kancetto was in his new quarters, having ascended to the rank of Jedi Knight, which was in the Knights' Billet, a set of dormitories located in the accommodation sector of the Jedi Temple. What he perhaps noticed the most was the fact that his new quarters were certainly bigger than the quarters he had when he was a Padawan. It had been a month since himself and Silara were protecting Senator Amidala.
He was in the middle of his semi-circled room, with his windows in his curved walls and three separate sun beams coming into his room. He was meditating while his lightsaber sat horizontally in front of him on the floor. He had made one slight modification to his lightsaber, and that was the addition of beskar, also known as Mandalorian iron, to his hilt, replacing some of the silver flourishes he once had on his hilt.
Beskar, also known as Mandalorian iron or Mandalorian steel, was an alloy that was used in Mandalorian armour and was notable for its high tolerance to extreme forms of damage. In its purest form, the metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot and could repel lightsaber strikes.
He had not completely removed all the silver flourishes on his hilt, for he wanted to keep some on as a reminder of not only how his hilt used to be designed, but more importantly, he felt it as a reminder of his journey when he first designed his lightsaber when he was a youngling. He still kept the silver flourishes that he removed to put on the beskar in his window sill should he ever choose to take off the beskar and put back on the silver flourishes.
With how shiny and clean the beskar was, it could be mistaken for silver. Master Yoda was able to spot the difference in Kancetto's lightsaber due to having a wise head but also very observant eyes. No other Jedi could spot the difference in Kancetto's lightsaber, with only two other Jedi knowing of the slight aesthetic changes he had made to his lightsaber. The first to find out was Kancetto's former master in Shaak Ti after she came to visit her former Padawan, not just to see him but also to see how he was settling into being a Jedi Knight. It was during this visit that Kancetto was making the adjustments to his lightsaber, for he acquired the materials on Mandalore upon completing a diplomatic mission.
Master Ti was always in support of Jedi, or anybody for that matter, expressing themselves and showing their individuality, even if she did have Kancetto keep his hair trimmed when he was her Padawan, but that was more for disciplinary reasons. Kancetto was still growing his hair out, with some of his hair still parting to the side while his hair was still being slicked back, though it had now become a flow. He also had the lightest of stubble for a beard, with it remaining trimmed and more like scruff. Shaak always encouraged her former Padawan to express his individuality, but Kancetto was not the sort to be grandiose in his appearance or how he dressed; he was more subtle in how he went about things.
His lightsaber with the inclusion of beskar was a mark of this fact, as he did not want himself or his lightsaber for that matter to stick out. Shaak was proud to see her former student expressing himself by taking a part of his Mandalorian culture and adding it to his lightsaber hilt a bit like she had done by wearing a dress and an Akul-tooth headdress, all elements of her Togruta culture.
The other Jedi to know of the modification that Kancetto had made was Silara after having practiced their duelling together, which during their session saw Kancetto disarm Silara to hold her lightsaber as well as his in his hand. Though the time Kancetto had spent wielding both lightsabers in his hand was short,.
Silara, using some acrobatic moves that her abilities as a Jedi only enhanced, backflipped into a handstand, with her left foot catching Kancetto's right hand, which was holding his lightsaber, as it came loose out of his hand and flew up in the air. Silara was in the handstand for a split second before she was back on her own two feet, and with Kancetto's lightsaber in the air, she used the force to pull it towards herself to grip it in her hand. She, having held Kancetto's lightsaber before, was able to tell it was slightly lighter.
