Jevon

Mi head a hurt mi yuh fuck.

The bright sunlight shining in my face wasn't helping. It took me a while to open my eyes. When I finally did, I instantly realized that I'm not a home; I'm in a hospital bed.

How di fuck mi reach ya suh?...

I remember the whole situation with Ashley at my father's house, and I remember going home and drinking a bit... or a lot...

Judging by this hangover, it's definitely the latter.

"Mister Johnson, you're awake."

A nurse said as she walked through the opened door.

"Hmm..." I mumble in response. I can't form a sentence right now.

"The doctor will be with you shortly."

She left, and less than a minute later, the doctor walked in.

"Morning sir."

"Morning doc."

"I'm assuming you don't remember much, correct?"

I nodded.

"Ok. A friend of yours; Wayne Harris, brought you here. He said he found you unconscious in your home. Based on the test I ran, you passed out due to alcohol poisoning. You need to slow down on the drinking sir. I'm going to prescribe some medications for you, then you're free to leave. Your friend said he'd be back this morning. I suggest that you let him or somebody else drive you home."

"Alright, thanks doc."

"You're welcome."

After he left, I pulled my phone out of my pocket. Mi barely use it yesterday so I wasn't surprised at the battery being almost full.

I had three missed calls. Two from Ashley and one from my father. I turned on my data and the number of notifications increased.

Jah jah...

I opened Whatsapp and scrolled through the messages, replying to the most important ones. I noticed a message from di Excelsior girl who works at Dolls & Dapper Dudes and a long fuckin' paragraph from Ashley that I didn't bother to read. I blocked her on Whatsapp, then went to my normal call log and blocked her there as well.

I slid down my screen to check my other notifications and saw a recorded call from last night... from the Excelsior girl...

What?

I tapped the notification and my call recording app opened. I played the call.

Raassclaat...

Krissann

"I love you." Kelly said to me as we embraced each other.

"Love you too."

Today is the day.

My best and only friend really, and her mother are leaving the country for two weeks. I know that's a short period of time, and based on how fast time moves, as mi quint dem come back. However, I know I'm sad and anxious for two reasons. One, I know I'll miss them. And two, though things have been great between my mother and I, I can't help the thought that's at the back of my mind...
