Krissann

I've never been happier to hear the bell that marks the beginning of lunch time.

Between these SBAs and work, I don't know what's more overwhelming... No! Mi tek dat back, these SBAs are definitely more overwhelming! Plus, mi nah get nuh money from none a dis. Not yet at least, I'm sure all of this hard work will pay off in the future. My dream of becoming a Physician is my only drive.

"Alright guys, you're dismissed for lunch. Mek sure none a unu nuh come in ya tomorrow without the complete first draft of the lab." Mister Hall dismissed us with a warning.

As usual, I headed to Kelly's class to wait for her since we don't do the same subjects. When I have Physics, she has P.O.A.

Surprisingly, she met me halfway.

"Waa guh done shi let unu out early."

"Mi seh... a cyaa stan di woman." She replied, then rolled her eyes.

"Yow Krissann!" I heard the new boy's voice call out from behind me.

A who tell da bwoy ya mi name fada God?

"A di new bwoy-"

"Yup." I responded before Kelly could finish her question.

Instead of answering, I simply looked in his direction.

"Yuh nuh hear man a call yuh likkle girl? Mi waa talk to yuh enuh."

"Suh talk nuh."

He briefly looked at me from head to toe before speaking.

"Mi ago waa yuh enuh."

I couldn't hide my reaction of pure disgust even if I wanted to.

Most of my peers are dating. A lot of them are even having sex. But me? I'm yet to meet a boy who sparks my interest because that's exactly what they are; boys. Very immature.

I shook my head and pulled Kelly in the direction of the cafeteria, taking the high road instead of telling him bout him claat.

While Kelly joined the line to order lunch for both of us, I secured our seats in the gazebo. To pass time, I checked my personal phone, then my work phone.

Taking my work phone to school isn't smart but I'm glad I did. Because I've been so busy finishing up my SBAs, I completely forgot to call him.
