Today is my day off from work. Today is also the first Friday in August, and it feels like summer jus a kick in. But the closer the twenty-fourth gets, the more my anxiety increases for CSEC results. Mi know mi do mi best an mi feel like mi pass all six subjects. However, I'll just have to wait and see. It would be great if I get all six though, so that I can add them to the two I did last year and have a total of eight.
I really want to start attending UWI next year but I'm not sure if that will be possible. Although I have started saving, I might have to wait until the year after next. Either way, I'm happy that after all I went through this year, my dream of becoming a Physician still seems achievable.
"So you’re still coming?" Kelly asked.
She's referring to the beach party that her new 'friend' invited us to. It will be next week Friday. Honestly, mi nah too pay har nuh mind because she knows that I'm not a party person.
She's at my home to spend the weekend with me. Miss Maxine dropped her off earlier this morning, and I was finally able to give her a proper tour of the house and stuff. Kelly is going back home Monday morning.
"Mi nuh sure enuh. Afta yuh find new friend an a cheat pan mi yuh waa mi come a party wid unu? Mi not even like dem type a outing deh."
She chuckled and ate another spoonful of ice cream.
"Oh please, nutn like dat. And this is a male friend, him cyaa replace yuh nuh day."
Now, she had my full attention.
"Yuh find a potential bae? Or unu already deh an yuh nuh tell mi nutn?"
She blushed.
"We're just friends, but we like each other."
"Interesting."
My phone rang. Seeing that it was Jevon, I immediately answered.
"Hey."
"What's up princess? Everyting good?"
"Yeah. Mi deh here wid Krissann."
"Oh, hail har up fimi."
I put the phone on speaker so they could greet each other.
"Mi a come drop off di bulb dem an ting in a few."
"Alright. Thank you."
"No problem. Mi soon fawud."
The call ended and Krissann gave me the same look she usually gives when I'm talking to him.
"A wa?"
"Nutn, mi jus a medz how yaa blush."
"Oh please." I playfully rolled my eyes.
This girl waa mi fi like di man more dan how mi actually like him.
"Girl, we've been over this. It's just a little crush. I'm still under the age of eighteen and him have him woman."

Krissann called me earlier, and asked me to get two new bulbs. One for the kitchen and one for the living room. Apparently di two a dem blow last night. She also asked me to bring a chocolate mocha cake and non-alcohol wine for her and Kelly. I bought them with no problem of course. However, mi phone connected to di car and Deandra hear mi a talk to har and a mek it out fi be something that it's definitely not.
I swear as soon as mi find a decent woman, mi a drop da gyal ya. Mi cyaa work wid di heap a noise at all. Shi loud an miserable an love pick argument ova foolishness. An pan top a dat, shi cannot cook, an shi very lazy when it come to cleaning.
"My girl, please don't piss mi off. Mi done explain certain tings to yuh already. An yuh know di heap a noise ano my style."
"Mi realize seh a idiot yaa try tek mi fa enuh! But it nah guh work a bloodclaat! Yuh figot who mi be? Yuh tink is a yam head yuh deh wid!?"
"Alright, hear wa... dis naa guh work. Mi an yuh done. I'll take you home, because mi a guh pan di road guh drop off dem ting ya-"
"Den yuh nuh gwaan! Yuh feel seh mi need yuh!? As a matter of fact mi will find mi way home!"
With that, she got out of my car and slammed the door.

I open the door and immediately I notice that he's somewhat upset. Nevertheless, he gave me his usual friendly smile.
I smiled back and allowed him to take in the stuff he brought.
"Killa Kellz." He greeted Kelly, who was busy typing away on her phone.
"Waa gwaan Jev?"
"Deh ya."
As he placed everything on the kitchen counter, I noticed that he bought my favourite chocolate bar too.
"Thank you." I said before pulling him into a hug.
"No problem princess."
"How much-"
"Hey, nuh badda wid dat." He cut me off, knowing I was about to offer to pay him back.
"Ok fine. Thanks again."
He simply nodded.
"What's wrong?" I asked, barely above a whisper.
"Mi good man, jus have a brief argument wid somebody before mi come here, but everyting good."
Kelly looked up from her phone and smirked.
"Ok. Yuh eat dinner already?"
"No, yuh cook?"
"Yeah, curry chicken and rice. Want some?"
"Yes please?"
"Wa yuh waa fi drink?"
"Yuh av orange juice?"
"Yeah."
"That would be great. Thanks."
He got comfortable in the living room and Kelly walked into the kitchen.
"See it deh. Him a have woman problem. Now is yuh chance girl. Angle dat." She whispered.
"Kelly no." I whispered back.
She threw her hands up as if she gave up but knowing her, this won't be her last attempt to get us together.
