A/N: Potential trigger warning! This chapter contains a graphic description of a PTSD episode. I tried my best to portray this subject in an accurate way though if I have made any mistakes please let me know so I can correct them. Thank you.
Wednesday stepped into the hummers shed, ready to begin her bug hunt with Eugene. She expected to find the smaller boy inside but the crowded, honey-scented room was empty as he had not arrived yet. Wednesday set her small leather bag down and took out her notebook. The page was organized where there would be notes under each person she would interview's name. Under Bianca's name was a list: Constant thinking about person, enjoyment of presence. The goth furrowed her brow at the small amount of information she had obtained. Surely Eugene would have a better understanding than the siren. A few moments later and the creak of the shed door captured Wednesday's attention.
"Hi Wednesday!" Eugene smiled excitedly. "Are you ready to go bug hunting?" Wednesday looked at Eugene with fondness, though she'd be quick to deny it if you asked her. The goth snapped up quickly, her arms stiff at her sides.
"Yes, let us begin." She said making her way towards the exit. Eugene follows her, his backpack clunking and jingling along as he moves.
"I'm so excited, I brought my notebook where I've written down all of the stuff I know about every bug I've found, I brought my net, and my magnifying glass! I know it's kinda beginner stuff but that's only because the gear I ordered hasn't arrived yet." Eugene smiled, trotting along after Wednesday. The two make their way into the forest in silence, not including the noisy bag and the crunchy leaves. "So Wednesday, what made you want to partake in the art of bug bounty hunting? Other than the glorious appeal of the local insect population." He added smugly. The raven looked at him with pride.
"You know me so well. I do, in fact, have ulterior motives." She says. "I was talking with a certain siren the other day and she gave me an idea for a new experiment. I desire to know what love is to you and how you perceive it." Wednesday finished bluntly. Eugene's face twists in cute confusion, an awkward smile being the metaphorical cherry on top.
"Hmmm... Well I mean, love can be a lot of different things. My moms taught me about this sort of thing from a young age so I'd consider myself somewhat of an expert. There's platonic love- love for a friend, romantic love- deep attraction to another person, and familial love- like the love for a parent or a sibling. There might be more but that's all I can think of at the moment. Why do you want to know this anyway?" Eugene finishing off his small rant with a question. Wednesday took a few moments of silence to digest the information she had just obtained. She had never realized love was so complicated. To her, love was just the gross display of affection her parents constantly exhibited, she never considered loving her friends or her family. Wednesday mentally slapped herself for being so dense.
"I have been told by many I'm not the most personable. I suppose I desire to amend that fact. I as well desire to understand my own experiences to a higher degree." The psychic said vaguely. Eugene gave her a toothy smile.
"Are you sure this isn't about a certain blonde werewolf that you've grown rather attached to?" He grins smugly. Wednesday looks straight into Eugene's eyes, trying her best to force down the blush that wants to crawl up onto her cheeks.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She says, using an immense amount of effort to reveal no emotion. Her attempts, however, were not as fruitful as she had hoped as Eugene simply smiles wider.
"From someone who used to be totally head over heels for her, I can see the signs." The beekeeper says confidently. With Wednesday realizing her facade was amiss, she looked away from Eugene, her embarrassment obvious and her voice absent. After a few moments, Eugene nudges the girl gently. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." He assures.
