A/N: Long time no see! I'm back! I'm so sorry I was gone for so long unannounced, everything just sorta got away from me and I forgot about this fic! Anyways, I'm in college now lol. I do plan on finishing this story obviously, don't worry! Enjoy!!!
Enid awakens to the sound of tapping on the window. She glances over to see Thing as the culprit, with some files next to him on the window sill. Sleepily, the blonde gets out from under the covers and walks over to let the appendage in.
"Good morning, Thing," Enid yawns. "I'm sorry we didn't think to unlock the window."
"It's okay," he taps. Before he can begin his next sentence, he's cut off by a cold voice from the bed.
"Did you find anything?" Wednesday asks, exiting the bed and walking over to the two. The hand dramatically motions as though rolling his eyes.
"I did, however, you two need to get ready for class, it's already 7:15." Enid's eyes widen as she learns this.
"Oh my god, really?! Shit! I still need to shower!" she says, scampering back over to her half of the room to grab her toiletries. Enid then quickly runs off to the bathroom, almost forgetting her vibrant pink towel in the process.
"I'm not opposed to the idea of skipping," Wednesday quips, extending a hand towards the documents, only to get slapped away by Thing.
"No, you need to go to class. We'll talk about it later," he taps strongly. The psychic glares at him, though begrudgingly agrees to his terms.
"Fine," Wednesday replies, turning away and beginning her own morning routine.

"Today we'll be talking about a rather important plant to the United States ecosystem!" Ms. Sequoia says as she stands by the tall plant she had guided the class over to. Wednesday's dark eyes try their best to stick to the tall plant being discussed, though her mind can't help but wander to what Thing may have found.
"It's not too often I catch you staring off into space," Xavier laughs lightly. "Something on your mind?"
Wednesday's head whips up to glare at the taller boy, only for her eyebrows to twitch in confusion as she sees the state he's in. He's paler than usual, hair slipping from his usually maintained bun and dark bags under his eyes.
"You look like you've gotten a full night's rest," she remarks sarcastically. The artist rolls his eyes at Wednesday. "And what ails my mind is none of your concern," the goth states curtly.
"Okay," Xavier weakly puts his hands up in a pseudo-offended manner. "I'm sorry I care about my friend."
A moment of silence passes between them before Wednesday speaks. "So tell me why you look so disheveled. Is it related to the fact you haven't been around lately?" she asks, her eyebrow quirking up slightly.
"It's nothing really, I just have a cold," he grumbles before letting out a small cough. The psychic hums at this information before turning away from Xavier. The brunette opens his mouth to say something more but is cut off by a familiar werewolf girl placing herself in between the two.
"Hi," Enid says as she smiles at her girlfriend. Wednesday looks over to the girl, acknowledging her presence. "So... I was wondering what you were planning on doing later this week." The lycan shuffles her feet nervously, shifting her balance from one to the other.
"After classes are out for today I intend on discussing the retrieved files with Thing in order to continue my search. As for later this week I am unsure. Why?" Wednesday asks, cocking her head a little to the side.
"I was wondering if you'd, like, wanna go on another date or something? I'll pay!" Enid bounces a little in anticipation as she asks. Before the psychic can respond she hears a dry chuckle from behind Enid.
"I didn't know you guys were a thing," Xavier says dryly. Enid looks back at Wednesday, nervous at what her reaction to her potential misstep may be.
"Yes, we are. Now if you'll allow me to excuse your blatant heteronormative mindset, I believe our conversation was over," Wednesday states icily before turning back to face her girlfriend. Enid mentally lets out a sigh of relief. "What day were you thinking?"
"Friday! I know how much you love creepy and gross things so I got us tickets to that new horror movie that just came out, The Scissoring! Supposedly, it's about this girl who comes back from the dead and goes on a rampage with a pair of scissors; it sounded like something you'd like," Enid chirps.
"That's an oddly intriguing premise. I look forward to it," the goth confirms. The rest of the day seems to go by quickly as Wednesday finds herself now having one extra thing to occupy her thoughts.

The two girls arrive back at their room, Wednesday immediately heading over to her desk where Thing was flipping through a magazine with the recovered files laying next to him. She sits down in her chair and grabs the files, causing Thing to shut his magazine and toss it away. The small girl begins gingerly flipping through the papers within each file, laying out each paper that detailed the profiles of each student. She finishes with only three profiles laying out on the table.
"I'm surprised you were able to narrow it down to three," Wednesday quips.
"I wasn't able to find any Djinn's who've attended this school," Thing taps. "However, while I found records of plenty of Arabian students, I found only a few with the ability to alter someone's mind." The files in front of Wednesday detail a man named Malik Khaldun, an illithid with remarkably high grades and his face obscured by a mask; Altair Izar, a changeling with a bit of a questionable record; and Amir Ziyad, a succubus who seemed to be running the majority of the extracurriculars at the time.
"This is good, thank you," Wednesday says, not looking up from the files. "Enid, would you mind looking up these people?" she asks, causing the blonde to get up from scrolling through TikTok and go over to her.
"Sure," she says, sitting on the floor near her girlfriend. A few minutes pass before Enid speaks. "I found social media profiles for both Altair and Amir but nothing's coming up for Malik. I mean, he could just be like you and think social media's a waste of time." She shrugs. "It's kinda weird though, he's not on anything like Linked-in either. You'd think someone with that good of grades would go off to some great school and research with NASA or something."
"That is odd..." Wednesday notes. "This may take more time than I initially thought."
Enid grumbles at the prospect of having to do more reading whilst making her way back over to her bed. "Well, it's been a while since we've seen or heard anything right? Maybe we can take a break?" The werewolf suggests.
"Just because nothing has happened does not mean everything is over, Enid. However, if you'd like to do your own thing whilst I do the research, you are more than welcome," the psychic offers. The blonde groans at this, causing Wednesday to finally look up from the papers. "You're upset," she remarks.
"Yeah, I am," she barks.
"Tell me why, il mio cucciolo," the dark haired girl says, having turned around and now fully facing her girlfriend.
"Because I wanted to spend time with you! And I know we're going on that date on Friday and that we cuddled last night but I'm just feeling kinda sad, okay?" Enid concedes, her voice quieting down towards the end. Wednesday furrows her brow, calculating her next move. After a few moments she gets up from her chair and steps over to the taller girl.
"I'll lay with you, however I do have to get back to my research at some point," the goth states, sitting down with her girlfriend. Enid wraps her arms around Wednesday and rests her head on her shoulder.
"Thank you..." she mumbles, reveling in the comforting scent of the girl she's holding. Wednesday closes her eyes and allows the taller girl to pull her down onto the bed.
