Luckily, the rest of the stay with Yoko went as expected. Wednesday did however leave sooner than Enid as she wanted to make up for her time lost with her dear cello. This left Enid sitting across from her friend as she got out her nail polish. They had both agreed this was probably not high on the goth's to-do his, hence why they're doing it now.
"Rainbow like usual I'm assuming?" Yoko asked, picking out different colors.
"Obvi." Enid smiled, though it was obvious she was tired. Yoko turned back around with her nail polish in hand. The vampire had purchased the same brand as Enid because she knew the blonde would be the only one using them. She opened the first bottle and Enid extended an arm towards her.
"So... how's it going?" Yoko asked, dragging out the last word in a casual sense, akin to a hairdresser. Enid smiled wearily before closing her eyes and replying.
"It's been alright, things have been a little weird lately." She admitted.
"You mean with a certain goth girl? Yeah I noticed that." Yoko said. "What's up with her?"
"She mentioned something about a theory she wanted to test out? Honestly I'm not totally sure. She's been really obsessed with love lately, my guess is she likes someone." Enid mumbled, still not opening her tired eyes. The werewolf didn't seem to notice she pause in the vampires actions that was accompanied by an eye roll.
Is she really this oblivious? Yoko thought. It is kinda funny though, I shouldn't spoil it for them. The vampire switched to the second color of nail polish and switched her grip to Enid's pointer finger. "Yeah it seems like it, I wonder who it is?" Yoko lied skillfully.
"I dunno, maybe Xavier? They seem to spend a lot of time together? Or Eugene?" Enid wondered, opening her eyes finally to watch the vampire work.
"After everything that happened with Xavier last semester, I think they're still getting to a safe place as friends. And I don't think I know Eugene, who is that?" Enid smiled a small warm smile.
"He's the boy who runs the hummers club, the ones who take care of bees? He's actually really sweet even if he is super awkward." She stated fondly. "He's kinda like a younger brother figure, at least from my perspective. He's much more pleasant than any of my actual brothers though, that's for sure!" Yoko laughed quietly.
"He seemed cool, I saw him cheering for us during the Poe cup." The vampire turned around to grab the third color of nail polish. Silence ebbed between the two as Yoko painted. Finally, the pale girl broke the silence once more. "So, what's up with you and Wednesday?" Enid raised her eyebrows and the tips of her ears tinted red.
"What? Nothing, what are you talking about?" She looked away nervously.
"Don't treat me like I'm stupid, you dared her to kiss you." Yoko said a matter of factly. Enid's face grew red.
"It was a dare! For the game! That's it!" The blonde used her free hand to cover her face as she pulled her knees into her chest. Yoko's eyebrow quirked up in passive disbelief.
"Yeah, sure. Are you not still getting over Ajax?" She asked, ignoring the other girls denial.
"I mean, I am but, it feels different with her, I don't think about anything else but her when she's around and I don't feel pressured into being someone I'm not. With Ajax it felt almost like I had to be the idea of what he thought would be a good girlfriend, ya know? It's not like that with Wednesday." Enid admitted. Yoko's face covered with shock as she had not expected her to open up so easily.
"So you do like her?" She asked. Enid remained silent for a moment, watching the brush come down on her nail, skillfully avoiding her skin.
"I don't know, maybe?" She mumbled. "I'm not totally sure yet. And like, even if I do, I'm not really looking for a relationship right away, ya know?" Yoko turned around to grab the final color of nail polish.
