"All cats old enough to catch their own prey may join here beneath the high rock for a clan meeting!"
I came out of the apprentices den, and walked over to the high rock.
Once all the cats were out of their dens and beneath the high rock, firestar began.
"You are all aware of the biggest problem we have right now, the drought. We had no idea what was causing this problem, but now we do, or at least we think we do. Dovepaw, step forward."
Dovepaw!?
"Tell the clan about your vision."
Vision!?!?
"I was by this river, vary far away, when the river stoped flowing. Suddenly there was no water left, it had disappeared. All the fish in the river were sitting at the bottom...dead. The trees around the water were all dead. The bracken and bushes were dead. The open moor...all the grass was dead. Fish means RiverClan. Trees means ShadowClan. Bracken and bushes means ThunderClan. Moor means WindClan."
The whole clan stared to talk about with one another;
"What could that mean?"
"Is that even a vision?"
"What could StarClan mean?"
"Is something happening at this...river?"
FireStar signald with his tail for silence.
"That's not all. Dovepaw, continue."
"In the middle of the river was a dam. A beaver dam. I think StarClan tried to tell me that the dam is what's stopping the water."
Gasps echoed the clearing.
"what should we do about this?" Cinderheart asked.
"we are going to bring this up at a gathering, but i'm going to suggest that each clan chooses two cats to go on a journey to find the dam." Firestar stated.
"and wich cars would go from our clan?" Greystrip asked.
"me!"
"i'll go!"
"take me!"
"please, choose me!"
"i wanna go!"
It seamed like every cat wanted to go, only a few cats looked a bit unsure.
Firestar held up his tail for silence, then he spoke once every cat had shut up.
"i've already chosen who shall go; Dovepaw since this is her quest, and....Lionblaze because he is the most skilled at battle and they will be facing a lot of dangers."
Some cats looked happy for Lionblaze, and others looked mad that he was chosen and they weren't. Only a few remained unsure.
"how do you know this is what starclan wants?" Some she-cat asked.
"because the message was from starclan, and they showed her the sam directly, what else would Starclan want?"
"i don't know, but how are you so sure that this is from Starclan? how do you know it's not some stupid apprentice dream?"
"because some stupid apprentice dream wouldn't show us parts from all the territories."
Some cats still weren't convinced, but they didn't argue any farther.
The thing i don't get us, why would Starclan share a dream with Dovepaw, a warrior apprentice, instead of a medicine cat or a leader, even a deputy. It's not fare. Dovepaw needs to leave. Maybe this trip will be good for her. Me especially. I can have a life without Dovepaw for once!
