Violet had the best sleep of her life. She blamed it on the bed which felt like a cloud. She was properly warm too for the first time in several weeks. The clock on the bedside table read 6.30am, even without an alarm clock violet normally woke up early. She stretched out as far as she could under the covers. It was toasty and she didn't want to leave. But her grumbling stomach forced her up. She ate the rest of her gingernuts but 15 minutes passed and her stomach grumbled. One of the downsides of an increased metabolism. She doubted anyone would be up before 7.00. If Violet saved the world she wouldn't get up until 10. Taking the risk violet threw on her jumper and set off down the hall.
Violet decided the living room she was questioned in was her best bet. The room was empty when she arrived but she heard voices around the wall separating the living room from the rest of the apartment. The joint kitchen dining room was chaos , the room was filled with people eating, cooking and talking. Violet stood at the door not sure what to do. It took her a moment to realise these people were avengers. Avengers hanging out in pyjamas. She counted, they were all there plus a few extras.
"Who's that?" a brunette violet recognized as Wanda Maximoff asked. Everyone's eyes turned to Violet.
"Glad to you up, violet," Stark spoke just to her. "Everyone this is violet she is going to be staying with us for the day, she is a friend of peters so, be nice"
Her introduction was met with a chorus of hellos and good mornings. Violet stayed silent, a little overwhelmed by the fact she was in the same room as the avengers. She tried not to outwardly show her fear and excitement. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH her internal screams broke through her worry. It became harder to not react when the Falcon offered her a seat at the breakfast bar.
"Waffles or eggs?" Steve asked. He wore a kiss the cook apron. Violet tried to suppress her laugh as a cough. Earning her a grin from the Falcon.
"Cough- ah eggs" Violet replied. Steve loaded a plate of with an large portion of scrambled eggs
"Here you go," he said, passing Violet the plate.
"Thankyou" violet placed the plate on the bench and took a small mouthful. She looked up to see what everyone was doing. The falcon and the winter soldier sat at the bar with Violet having a conversation with Steve who seemed to be the cook, making everyone's waffles and eggs. Also in the kitchen was Thor, eating pop tarts straight out of the packet while a man with dark hair tried to wrestle them out of his grip. Taking another mouthful Violet turned behind her to the table Wanda, black widow and Hawkeye sat at the far end, Violet couldn't hear their conversation over the noise of the debate Stark, Rhodes and Banner were currently in. out of the corner of her eye she could see vision watching Wanda in curiosity.
Violet turned back to her food. Just as she finished her eggs she got a sharp feeling someone was watching her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She looked up trying not to make sudden movements. She half closed her eyes and looked out of the corner. The winter soldier stared at her from the other side of Wilson. Violet tensed.
"Would you like seconds?" Steve asked. Violet jumped.
"Woah there" Sam put a calming hand on Violet's shoulder.
"Waffles?" Violet asked.
"Coming up"
Violet munched down on her waffles. Everyone else started to finish up, starting placing their bowls and plates in the sink. Violet sped up eating her waffles in record time. She got up to help with the cleaning up but Sam quickly shot her down.
"Your our guest it would be rude to make you clean up"
Violet took a step back not sure what to do until Black widow pulled violet into the lounge room. Natasha sat back where she was last night so violet followed suit they sat in silence as the rest of the avengers filed out of the kitchen going about their days. A few gave Violet a sympathetic look after seeing Natasha. Steve and Stark came out bringing Banner with them.
