The fight was, surprisingly, going quite well. Of course, they had been discovered early on, but the bots were easily destroyed and dealt with. Each team was holding its own, but they were completely surrounded anyway. Somewhere in the distance, Donnie's Nimpo flickered.
"Miguel, on your left!" Leo shouted, vaulting over a bot and sticking one of his swords through its chest.
It crackled and fell to the floor, and Leo pulled his sword out. The blue-clad turtle watched his little brother jump to the right and swing his Nunchaku around several bots, throwing them away like they weighed nothing. They landed on another pile of bots behind Raph, who grinned as he swung his Sai around.
The huge snapper threw one of his weapons and struck a bot that was creeping up on Michelangelo, who in turn spun around and kicked another away. Beside him, Donatello whipped his staff at every bot he could see, trying to get closer to Mikey and Leo.
Leonardo appeared next to Leo, snapping a bot in half as he fell down from the sky. He grinned at his counterpart and Leo nodded.
"Let's get going!" he shouted at his team.
"Raph, you're taking over!" Leonardo shouted at his brother, disappearing into the nearby building.
Raphael rolled his eyes and spun his Sai around, grinning widely as he stabbed another bot. Michelangelo appeared by his side, protected by Leatherhead. Together, they stormed the array of Krang storming them.
Meanwhile, Leo and Leonardo ran through hallways, followed closely by Mikey, Donatello, and Raph. Leo was following that little flicker of Nimpo he had felt, and it was like a beacon pulling him forwards. He jumped over bots, ignoring all of them and leaving his team to deal with them. He had bigger fish to fry.
He careened into a wall and turned on the spot, slamming a double set of doors open to reveal what looked like a lab. Nobody was there, or so it seemed, but Leo knew it wasn't empty at all. He unsheathed a sword.
"I knew you'd be the first," Donnie's voice said, but it had a sneer to it that Leo hadn't heard before.
He looked up to see Donnie hanging in a corner, his spider-shell extended to keep him there. His face had a dark look and his body was covered in bruises, cuts and so much more. Leo pulled a face, leaning on his sword to seem casual. Donnie's eyes narrowed.
"You seem a bit cut up, Don, what's wrong?" Leo grinned, snickering as Donnie's face darkened.
"Don't go making jokes now, there is nothing fun here," Donnie said, coming down from his spot by the corner.
Leo knew this was most definitely not Donnie because the aura around him was completely wrong and dark. Leo shivered, hoping Donnie didn't see it. The purple-clad turtle either didn't see it or just didn't care.
"You've got guts showing up on your own," Donnie snarled, walking to one of the desks and picking up a heavy-looking gun.
He pointed it at Leo and cocked his head to the side, grinning darkly. Leo raised his brow and pulled his sword from the ground, leveling it at Donnie.
"I'm not scared of you," he said, and it was the truth.
Donnie chuckled darkly, "But you should be because I'm not your brother."
Leo closed his eyes for a moment and nodded. "That's true, but I know Don isn't very far away."
Donnie growled. "Like you can do anything about that. You came here to die didn't you?"
Leo chuckled. "You really think so?" he asked.
Donnie seemed taken aback. "You aren't the leader of the team, yet you came here on your own. You must either want to kill me or die yourself."
