It's hard to be interested when everything's the same, Kaneki reflects idly.

At least the frequent radiations treatments are over, and he's beginning to feel more like himself again. no more being drugged asleep, no more skull-splitting headaches, and he's gaining back weight almost as fast as he lost it.

He hasn't received a plant in quite a while (quite a while being three days), though, and the mere thought makes his chest ache with loneliness, as much as he hates himself for it. He's an independent man, goddammit!

But the flowers were a variation, a change in his usual routine of wake up--eat--vomit--feel miserable--sleep--have nightmares--wake up--vomit--go to radiation--vomit--sleep--wake up--repeat.

He really misses the flowers.
