26. Why Do You Care

"T-Taehyung wh-..." Jungkook was stuttering really badly in Taehyung's embrace, it's not like he wasn't enjoying it but he was confused about why would Taehyung hug him out of the blue .

Taehyung realised why Jungkook was struggling to speak as he shot open his eyes to look at Jungkook, " J-Jungkook *clears throat...I am really sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Um...let's go inside first yeah !" After saying it Taehyung hurriedly opened the lock and ran inside to his room.

Jungkook watched him fly away as wind as he stood at the doorway still confused about what happened to his teacher. But for now he let go of the thought and stepped inside the house closing the door behind him.

He sat on the couch removing his coat keeping the bag beside him, Jungkook roamed his eyes through the living room area as it was looking a bit different because Tae made a few changes like - new lamps, new flower vase with fresh tulips, scented candles etc. everything was giving an aesthetic vibes which Jungkook liked a lot.

A small smile made its way to Jungkook's lips as he watched all these beautiful things adorning them when Taehyung walked inside the living room giving Jungkook a full view of his beautiful legs wearing a black shorts above his knees with a simple white t-shirt. He was simply beautiful.

Taehyung felt goosebumps and hint of pink shade on both his cheeks when he saw Jungkook's admiring gaze on him, so he tried to distract Jungkook "Jungkook can we t-talk about what happened earlier. I can e-explain..."

Jungkook saw Taehyung's hesitation when he approached Jungkook sitting on the sofa in front of him, he looked like a scolded kid looking down at his feet while fidgeting, 'so cute' was all Jungkook could think. But nonetheless he gestured Taehyung with a nod to say what was in his mind, "If you want, yes !"

Tae looked up from his lap to Jungkook, he gulped the lump in his throat before starting the conversation, "Firstly I am really sorry for what I did (*clears throat). I didn't know what got into me that I - I did something  like that..."

"No, Taehyung it's ok ." Jungkook spoke cutting Tae off as he couldn't bear the fact that his crush was apologising to him but Taehyung shook his head to stop Jungkook from interrupting him to complete his sentence.

"No Jungkook let me apologise properly. It was my fault so I should sincerely apologise and I know I made you uncomfortable back then. But when I told you that I didn't know what made me do that, I really meant it. Actually I was really stressed at college and I needed someone to console me, to make me feel at peace, I needed a hug , a warm hug and then when I suddenly saw you... "
Taehyung stopped a little to breath in the cold air again looking down at his laps out of embarrassment, "when I suddenly saw you standing there I - I just couldn't control myself and hugged y-you. I am sorry Jungkook, hope you will understand."

Jungkook stared at Taehyung with soft eyes, he felt pain in his heart looking at him like that.

There once was a time when Taehyung used to smile so brightly that even a stone can  melt by seeing his smile but now looking at him like this was a pure pain for Jungkook.  He started walking towards Taehyung's side and sat down beside him holding his hand in his own that gave him butterflies all over his stomach but this was not time for all this so he focused only on how to make his Taehyung smile again.

Taehyung looked up to see the younger near him who gave him a gentle smile opening his mouth to say, "Taehyung please don't apologise to me. I am not uncomfortable or anything because of your hug instead I am happy that you are feeling comfortable after hugging me. I already told you that I am willing to help you whenever you are in need and I mean it. "

Tae felt his ears burning because of Jungkook's words and the way he was smiling and comforting him was way too much sweet which we only see in dramas but it was not a drama, it was all real. Taehyung was on the verge of crying because of all the things going on for the past few days and when he felt someone was really there to comfort him he finally let the tears slipped from the corner of his eyes making him shake.

Jungkook felt the world collapsing when he saw how Taehyung broke down in front of him, it was unbearable to see Taehyung cry and it was then when Jungkook pledged that no matter what, he would never let Taehyung cry in his life again.

He slowly embraced Taehyung stroking his back saying nothing but sweet things in his ear, " Taehyung please don't cry. You are too precious to cry My Angel. Please Taehyung...I can't see you cry like this. It breaks my heart." Jungkook was talking in his sweetly calm voice in order to make Tae stop crying as he tightened his grip in order to let Taehyung know that now he was not alone, he have Jungkook with him.

Taehyung sniffled while rising his head from Jungkook's chest battling his teary lashes. He didn't know why was Jungkook supporting him so dearly when in return he was getting nothing, his sweet words were doing things to Taehyung specially the new nickname that Jungkook gave him just  now. Yes he wanted someone like Jungkook who would care for him, who would hug him in his lows, who would console him when he is sad just like Jungkook was doing right now.

He wanted to ask so many questions to the younger but right now only one question was lingering in his mind, "Why can't you see me cry Jungkook?Why do you care so much when I have nothing in return to give you ? Why..." Taehyung wishpered the last word audible enough for Jungkook.

Jungkook gulped the lump making his adam's apple bob as soon as he heard Taehyung's question. He loosened the grip around Taehyung and averted the gaze to avoid his questioning eyes, " I um I .... I d-don't know." Jungkook lied because he couldn't afford to say the reality feared about losing the only string of being near Taehyung.

Tae sat straight going back to his earlier position as he wiped his tears clearing his vision looking at the younger, " Don't lie to me Jeon. I can tell it when you lie to me , just tell me the truth. I won't judge, I can give you my words."

Jungkook hesitantly looked at Taehyung fighting the urge to say the truth but found himself lying again too scared to let go off Taehyung's presence, " I just can't Taehyung. I think it is because I'm close to you,  Yeah that must be the reason."

Though Taehyung knew there was something that the younger was hiding but he let it slid for now as he was feeling hungry all of a sudden,
"Okay I won't ask you any further. Um... let's eat something first, I'm a bit hungry!"

Jungkook nodded his head thanking God as Tae didn't inquire any further and started following Taehyung to the kitchen thinking about the things that happened just now.

You are precious to me Tae.
