Xiao walked into the coffee shop and made a beeline toward the employee's room, where Ganyu greeted him. "Hello, Xiao. How are you?"
Xiao nodded, then replied, "It isn't important." Ganyu smiled. Xiao put his backpack down and grabbed the uniform. "I'll open up the shop."
Xiao's uniform had been the same for years now. He started working at the cafe at a young age, and despite this, he has never had to change uniforms. Never has his clothes been too small. Again today, his uniform fit perfectly.
Xiao walked up to the front door and unlocked it. The windows were uncovered and the tables were quickly washed. There was a sign that had to be flipped, once flipped, it said: "open".
As he walked behind the counter, a customer promptly came in. Swinging a beer in his hand, he called out "Xiao! I knew I'd find you here."
Xiao's eye twitched. "Venti, what are you doing here?" his face scrunched up, "are you drunk? It's barely 10, how can you be drunk?"
Venti smiled. Even when drunk you could barely tell the guitarist was drunk. "Most people come in an hour or two after you open up, it's okay. Remember the new band member I told you about?"
Xiao nodded, though part of him had already forgotten about it. "Well they're free today and I thought you could meet them after your shift!"
"Great," Xiao said before turning his back to him. He got a paper cup out and asked, "Will you be ordering anything or are you just here to bother me?"
Venti didn't seem to mind the interaction, instead opting to cheer, "Was that sarcasm? Did you just say a sarcastic comment? Lord Barbatos I never thought I'd see Xiao of all people say something sarcastic," a laugh fell out of the drunken man's mouth.A small laugh sounded in the back, an unfamiliar one. "Good morning," the girl who'd laughed smiled. "I'm not sure if you remember me, I'm Lumine."
"Nice to meet you, Lumine!" Venti turned around. Xiao nodded.
"I'm here to get two coffees, two creams one sugar," the blonde-haired girl called out while opening her wallet. "Oh, and make it a medium."
It has to be noted that Xiao's awkward conversation with Aether had never left his mind. In fact, part of him wanted to avoid that criminally beautiful man for the rest of his life, but another part of him betrayed him. The gloomy teenager's mood sank further when he realized Aether wasn't with Lumine. He couldn't help wanting to see those soft, golden eyes again.
"Xiao, you're spacing out. Is everything alright?" Ganyu put her hand on his shoulder. "Perhaps you should go home, I'll call Zhongli and tell him you're not feeling well-"
"-No!" Xiao blurted out embarrassingly fast, "No, I'm okay. Thank you for your concerns, Ganyu."Ganyu shook her head but did not press the matter. "Alright, if you say so."
"Your order will be ready soon," Xiao said and turned to prepare the coffee. This time, he made sure not to spill it.
Venti finished his beer and threw the container in a trash can nearby, "Alright then, Xiao! I'll be seeing you after your shift ends."
A/N: OH MY GOSH I'M SO SORRY. I didn't think I'd become on of those Wattpad authors who's last works were updated a year ago, but here I am. I don't think anyone is going to be reading this story anymore, but I'd still prefer to finish this story.
