 dooo wasn't the most verbal person

not that you minded

you knew how he felt about you and that was enough as far as you were concerned

 it was the little things that did the most. like now. 

the kitchen clock read three in the morning, yet the two of you were still very much awake

you rested your head against his chest, swaying back and forth in the dimly lit room

there was no music. there didn't need to be. 

you both had already fallen into rhythm with one another. 

his hands rested on your waist, drawing mindless patterns with his fingers on your exposed skin

 it tickled, but you didn't tell him to stop

you didn't want him to.

nothing mattered at this hour of the night. nothing but the two of you.

tomorrow would come with its challenges, but as long as you had your dooo, you knew you'd be fine

he splayed his hand out on the small of your back and tapped you three times

it was a gesture you were familiar with, seeing as you taught it to him. 

something you had learned as a child, a little sign of affection when words didn't quite work. 

again, he tapped. three times. i. love. you. 

you tilt your head up to meet his face and find he's already looking at you. 

"i love you too dooo"

and we both fell asleep
