I sighed as the door closed behind me. I had been in Polis for a few days. Thankfully I had Octavia here, but sadly she wasn't here all the time though. Clarke and the others had been informed of my deal with Roan. Kane and Abby were acting as ambassadors for the moment, so at least I was a bit surrounded with people I knew.

My new job had been kind of exciting so far. Even if I didn't want to admit that. I liked the freedom I had here, I was a spy for Roan more or less. If I didn't have any missions I usually walked around the city, observing, listening for gossip or information or anything that he could have use of. All the years in hiding really helped me with my job. I came and went as a ghost, moving from place to place soundlessly, my eyes like a hawk's. This job really suited me well.

Every evening and noon I was to report to him. Other than that I didn't need to see him or any Azgeda for that matter.

At the moment I was lurking in the shadows of the throne room. I had heard that Kane and Octavia wanted to speak with him. And I was curious, so this would be interesting. But right now it was only Echo and Roan here, talking about his rule. Apparently Echo liked his mother's rule better. But they were cut off as the door opened.

"Forgive the intrusion your highness. May we have a word... privately?" Kane began.

"You can wait, like the other ambassadors." Echo cut him off, obviously pissed at him.

"Echo leave us. Please." Roan ordered her and the look on her face made me bit my lip to prevent myself from laughing. Oh, that pissed her off. She was so offended. Accepting that she wasn't welcomed, she left the room.

"We were right to be concerned about the Trishanakru. Rafel is gonna challenge you for control." Kane continued as he walked closer to the king. My interest peaked and I listened closely, still hiding in the shadows. I had heard a bit about the ambassador being dissatisfied with Roan's rule.

"Bold move for a new ambassador." was Roan's response as he stood up and walked up to Kane. "So? Let him come."

"With respect, you're still recovering." Kane told him.

"The law says you can pick someone to fight in your place." Octavia piped in. My guess was that he wouldn't. Too proud.

"No, the clans will never accept a leader who hides behind the law or another warrior's blood." Roan cut her off. Octavia responded that he would lose, meaning that Lexa kicked his ass without a bullet hole in his chest. Kane's suggestion was to cancel the gathering or delay it until he had recovered. But Roan wouldn't have any of it. They continued to discuss the matter until they agreed on Kane talking to the ambassador and if he failed Roan would have to fight.

I slipped out the window I came from and started climbing down. Climbing inside the floor below I headed to the elevator. The sun was already up and I was supposed to be in the city already. Taking the elevator down to the ground I headed out, the hood on my leather jacket covered my face and my trident on my back. At least I didn't need to wear gloves anymore to hide the Westari tattoo on the back of my hand.

For the next few hours I cruised through the city and kept my ears and eyes open. There was no word on the street, the rumors about the ambassador challenging Roan had died down. But I didn't care, even if the sun was unbearably hot I still liked being out here more than inside. People weren't my best strength but at least I didn't need to talk to someone. I wasn't back in the tower until the sun had gone down and I headed right to the throne room. The guards opened the door for me and I stalked in, lowering the hood from my face.

"There's nothing to report, no words on the street, no secret information, nothing at all." I told him and he nodded before telling me to go.
