I roamed the corridors of the tower. Roan had told me not to be in the city today, why I had no idea. My room was so boring after a while that I decided to roam the tower instead. Unconsciously my steps were silent, hurrying in the shadows. Rounding a corner I came to the corridor leading to the dungeon. About to turn around since it was a dead end I heard people talking. Quickly hiding in the shadows covering the walls I saw two Azgeda guards leaving the door. My brows furrowed in confusion. We didn't have any prisoners anymore, the targets I had collected were all dead now. So why would they come from the dungeon? What if we had new prisoners? Curiosity got the best out of me and I waited until the guards were gone. Slowly creeping towards the door I made sure that no one was there. My silver eyes searching for a soul, my ears listening down the stairs leading to the dungeon. Once I was satisfied that no one was there I made my way down the stairs. My side pressed against the wall and the smell of blood reached my nose. Turning the corner I found the cage and two people inside.

"Bellamy? Kane?" I questioned and walked up to the cell. They both looked up at me surprised. "What the hell is this?"

"Thank God that you're here." Kane breathed and stood up. "Hurry, open the door."

"Tell me what's going on." I stated and twisted my head, confused why they were here.

"There's no time." Kane stressed. "Khalida please!"

"Roan broke the alliance." Bellamy answered, his back resting against the iron bars, a defeated expression on his face. "He found out that we were rebuilding the ship. It's just a matter of time before they march to Arkadia." I was taken aback. My thoughts racing in my head. This would mean war. He didn't only break their alliance but also my deal.

"Now help us, Khalida!" Kane urged.

"I can't." I told him with a sorry shake of my head. "There's guards everywhere. Even if I managed to get you out of the tower you would be discovered on the streets. I'm not allowed to leave the city. I'll have an arrow in the back before I can reach the tree lines. I'm sorry."

"Then Octavia will have to warn Arkadia." Bellamy said.

"I have to go before anyone sees me." Turning away from them was painful. But I focused on the fire that burned in my chest. Roan had broken our deal. I didn't care that my footsteps thundered across the stone floor. Letting him know I was coming. That deal was my life line. He broke it, meaning that every Azgeda in this building could kill me. Sadly for them they already had one of the best warriors inside their walls. And I would make sure that his blood ran down his throne when I left.

"Roan!" I called while kicking open the doors to his throne room. I was breathing heavy, but my gaze was focused and cold. "You broke your part of the deal. I'm not going to maintain mine." I reached back for my trident.

"If you do that, there'll be an open season on you instead." he growled and I stopped dead in my tracks, hand still gripping my trident, but I didn't remove it from the holster. "But I can still give you full immunity if you continue to work in my security detail." The gods knew how much I hated this but right now I had to think of myself. If I didn't honor the deal I'd be dead. But at the same time I didn't want Skaikru to die, even if I couldn't do anything to help them. My arms fell to my sides.

"Thought so." Roan murmured. Only for survival, I reminded myself. "Besides, what does Skaikru have on you? Do you really think they care that much about you? Enough to save you?"

"Shut up, you know nothing." I lowly hissed at him, venom coating my voice. "Octavia and Clarke would've-"

"Wake up, Khalida." Roan cut me off, a hint of malice in his eyes. "If they really cared about you they wouldn't have handed you over so easily." I opened my mouth to object when I realized that he was right. Closing my mouth I turned my gaze to the floor, for once feeling speechless. I didn't even know what to say to that. The doubt spread through my thoughts but before any of us could do anything else, the doors opened and Echo came in.

"Where is Octavia?" Roan questioned in trigedasleng.

"I'm sorry my king, she wouldn't come alive. I had no choice." Echo responded, her eyes staying on the floor shamefully. No, no, no! Not Octavia! Ice filled my insides, suffocating me, paralyzing me. It couldn't be true, Octavia couldn't be dead. The pain flashed through me, tears filled my eyes. I closed my eyes.

Accept and ignore. Accept and Ignore. Accept and Ignore-

A roar ripped through me, sadness replaced by anger. I launched at her, tackled her to the ground. Fury blurred my vision. The anger from earlier mixed with the pain of Octavia's death. Anger filled my senses until I heard, saw, felt, tasted and smelled it. Everything else was blocked out, all rational thoughts, all sounds, everything. My fists stuck Echo. Again and again and again. She tried to cover her face, blood filling her mouth. But it was in vain.

Suddenly someone pulled me off her. I fought against them, screamed, but they were too strong and carried me away from her. I faintly heard Roan telling the guards to take me to my room.

"I'll kill you Echo. Kill you!" Dragging me away I screamed until it only became an echo in the throne room.
