Drumbeats echoed in the arena as we were escorted by the scouts. We were all positioned out all over Polis. I stood by my station, steeling my mind for the coming battle. Then the horn sounded and the games were on. It began raining, luckily not black rain, but it would just be a matter of time before it came. I hurried away from my position, I was fairly near one of the champions. I headed into the labyrinth of rubble and buildings. All my senses were on alert, listening, watching, smelling after anyone coming my way.

My steps were silent, watching were I was going not to make a sound, I used the shadows and hiding places. It took a while until I saw the first soul. I spotted him through the rubble that acted like a wall between us. Crouching down I gripped my trident and saw a concrete pipe, big enough for me to crouch in. It led straight to the path he was walking on. Silently crossing the tunnel I stopped before the end, making sure that my shadow wasn't visible. One thing I learnt from experience was that everyone watched at eye level. No one cared to look closer to the ground or up in the trees. That I could use as my advantage. I watched as his legs moved past the opening and swung my trident out. It catched the back of his calves and he fell to his knees, his cry echoing. Wide eyed I exited the tunnel and dragged the blade over his throat. Snatching his sigil I ran across the street and into another maze. His cry could notify some and I did not want to stick around for that person to find me.

Finding a hiding spot I sunk down on the floor. I cleaned my blade from blood and listened closely. Needing to take a moment to calm down my racing heart I took deep breaths to calm myself. But it was hard, knowing that anyone could find me and they wouldn't hesitate to kill me. I put the trident back in the holster, I needed two hands. With one last breath and tying the necklace around my neck I got up. But the high walls of the trash and rubble made it hard to see and hear. Deciding that I needed to get a better view I started to climb up. I was crouched down with a big concrete block in front of me, slightly shielding me. Looking around I saw the labyrinth continue to my left and a big open space caged in by houses to my right.

Suddenly I saw a female warrior coming from one of the houses. She didn't have a bow or spear, good she would have to get close to kill me. Knowing that if I stayed down she'd most definitely see me and if I ran I would draw attention to me. I didn't have to worry what to do when her gaze found mine. A battle cry left her as she ran towards me. Getting up I twisted around and ran across the rubble. Reaching the end of it I jumped to the building closest and was able to grip the railing on the balcony. Pulling myself up I crossed it before stomping on the railing and landing on the container under it. My fast footsteps thundered against it, in the corner of my eye I saw the woman following me on the ground, machete in her hand. Coming to the end of the container I stomped off, landed with my right foot on a piece of metal, stomped off, landed with my left foot on a concrete wall, stomped off I landed on another pile of rubble. But it wasn't stable and I started sliding down it, the woman stopping in front of me. Finding a solid surface I jumped up and made a salto over her. Landing on a more solid pile of rubble I twisted to her, seeing rubble falling all over her. She wouldn't be down for long. Making my way down the pile I grabbed my trident and stopped a distance away from her. Scrap and rubble formed a long corridor with a dead end behind her. I watched as she got up, blood running down her arm, but the look in her eyes was determined. She jumped up and ran straight towards me. I blocked her first attack and used the butt of the trident to push her into the scrap. Stepping around her she twisted to me, not caring about her bleeding teeth. She swung her sword at me and I blocked every attack. Metal against metal echoed, hopefully no one would hear us. Wielding my trident fast I was able to shield myself from her blade. We moved across the space, like dancing, fighting for our lives. But she became tired and sloppy, the wounds from earlier fights taking effect. Seeing this I became confident. My first mistake. My second mistake was that I tried to pierce her with the trident. She moved to the side and I stumbled forward. A shout escaped me as her blade dragged across my back. I fell to my knees and gasped at the pain. Ignore. Ignore. Ignore. Ignore. Twisting towards her there was a silver fire in my eyes, she stood within range. Swinging my trident at her I caught her left thigh. She stumbled back with a grunt and gripped her bleeding leg.
