At the sound of a door closing, I decided that I could not let Peter get kidnapped. I had only known him for a couple hours but he was adorable and also his parents were very protective of him.
If anything happened to that munchkin, it would be my paycheck on the line. Also, as a newer maid I was more likely to get suspected than fucking Mrs. Braum who had been working for the Starks for decades.
Knowing that Mrs. Braum had probably taken them through the passageway that led directly to Peter's room from the garden, I looked up and squinted my eyes against the rain. It was really pouring now, making it hard to see even this close to the house and hitting my skin with a slight sting.
Locating the window that was Peter's I placed my hand against the wall and let another vine grow up towards it. Rolling my shoulders back and taking a couple hops in place, I psyched myself up for climbing in the rain.
It was always easier to climb down than up, but this needed to be done. Placing my hands against the vine and letting it melt a bit into my skin, giving me a better grip. It only took a minute or so before I was at the window and trying to push it open.
It was locked, of course it was. I signed and let vines grow through the cracks, forcing the window open and letting me step into the room. Pushing the curtain aside I took in the familiar bedroom, lit up only by the soft blue glow of his nightlight.
I made my way over to where the passageway opened, it was locked but Mrs. Braum definitely had a key. Letting more vines grow from the door to the wall next to it, I hoped that would be enough to slow them down and give me time to take Peter to his parents bedroom.
I then made my way over to Peter's bed, leaving behind muddy footsteps and a puddle where I had been. As I reached his bed, I looked down and tried to shake him awake. We didn't have a lot of time, just a minute maybe.
"Peter," I said, tapping his shoulder, "Little dude, wake up!"
He did not wake up and I sighed, realizing that he was probably drugged. That was fucked up, drugging a little kid. Not like kidnappers had much morals anyways.
Hearing the sound of someone trying to open the door I just grabbed the kid and carried him out the room. Luckily, his parents' bedroom was right next door and I ran that way, closing Peter's door and letting vines grow there too.
Throwing open the Starks door, I ran to the bed and dropped Peter on it, his limp body bounding once.
"Mr. Stark, why the fuck are you not awake?" I tapped him on the face and damn, he wasn't waking up either.
"Oh this was planned planned." I sighed and wondered how many people were in on this. I closed the Stark's door behind me as I stepped outside the room, letting an entire wall of vines and flowers grow to make sure no one got in.
I was not losing this job tonight.

I sat down on the floor next to the Stark room and waited as the sound of people banging on Peter's door kept going. They should be making their way out soon but it was very entertaining to hear them arguing.
"How the fuck are you managing this house? Why are there vines growing on the walls?" The gruff smoking kidnapper asked and I giggled at that.
Then the mysterious men in black appeared and I was mildly disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting but it was two very normal looking men, one older and one younger along with Mrs. Braum.
"Aida?" She asked, clearly confused. Older kidnapper raised up his hands and pointed a gun at me, which was very rude of him.
I opened my hands and threw out pollen at the three of them, watching as they sneezed and started wobbling in place. Younger kidnapper reached out to grab onto the wall next to him, but then fell to his knees. It was only a moment until all their bodies fell to the ground, passed out.
I stood up and shivered at how cold I was getting. As soon as I dealt with them, I was so taking a warm shower and the next day off. I sat the men up back to back and tied them up with a cute vine with yellow flowers and some roses around their wrists. They didn't have many thorns but I didn't want them to try to escape and ruin everything I've done so far.
Mrs. Braun got tied up as well and I propped her body up next to the men. As I sighed and stretched my back I heard footsteps coming close. Hiding around a corner of the hallway, I heard the footsteps stop.
"Fury? We might have a problem." As soon as I heard the voice I felt my stomach drop.
Natalie? Was she involved in this? No, not the cute redhead.
"The targets have been knocked down and tied up in... vines? I believe a mutant got involved." Natalie said and I was confused for multiple reasons now. Who was she talking to and what did she mean targets?
God, I want to be in bed. I swore to myself that I was going to live a normal life and be a good maid, now here I was hiding from a short redhead and trying to stop a kidnapping.
There was the sound of steps coming near and I flexed my fingers, feeling the vine beneath my skin, ready to come out. As she got nearer I stepped out of my hiding place and took her in.
Tight black clothing, a holster with guns in it around her hips and thighs and another gun currently in her hands, raised right at me. She was ready to shoot, eyes more intense than I had ever seen them before.
"Aida?" Her voice was steady, a slight question to it, "What are you doing here?"
At that moment, she wasn't the Natalie that I knew. Nothing about her seemed familiar, not the intensity to her nor how ready she looked to shoot me.
What the fuck was going on?
