Fury is Furious

Turns out my plan to do nothing was spoiled. At way too early in the morning Steve came running into my room and sighed in relief as he stared at my confused gaze. I was half convinced I was hallucinating as he dragged me out of bed and into a car with Bucky and Natasha.

"Wha-?" I asked as the car pulled back from the school and took off, "Am I being kidnapped? This early in the day?"

"We've been compromised." Steve said as he sped down the highway, "Hydra attacked multiple agents last night, they're finally making their move."

I gasped as I looked at the three of them, feeling calmer when I noticed they looked okay.

"We're fine, doll," Bucky said, "But we lost Thor. He's been missing since at least 3am last night. We've been unable to make contact with him."

Bucky clenched his fists, knuckles turning white. I looked away and focused on the passing trees.

Nope, I wasn't saying shit.

As we pulled into SHIELD there was definitely much more activity than there previously had been. People were running around and I even bumped into an agent with the name tag Richard.

"Sorry! But I kinda gotta go fight an evil organization, so bye!" Richard said as he ran to who knows where.

Bucky quickly pulled me away from standing and staring at where Richard had gone. Eventually we reached Fury's office and went inside.

There was a very tense atmosphere in the room. Fury sat with his hands steepled on the desk. There was Bruce, Tony, Maria and Strange in the room with us. On the couch sat not-Katheryn, a book held in her hands.

She looked much better than before, dark hair cut short but looking very healthy. She was no longer looking malnourished, but like they had been feeding her regularly.

Most of all that hunted look in her eyes and the feeling of death no longer clung to her.

"Thank you for joining us," Fury said, "As I am sure you are aware we were attacked last night. Five of our safe houses were broken into, thankfully none of our agents were hurt. However, we have reason to believe that those attacks were just a distraction from their real goal- going after Thor."

A tense silence settled in the room as Strange gave me a look that clearly said 'shut the fuck up and don't say anything'.

"There is no evidence of a struggle but we believe that magic was involved," Bruce said as he rubbed his eyes under his glasses, "There is no way to track him and all surveillance cameras are down in that area."

"Damn," Steve cursed as he looked down at the floor, "What are they planning?"

"I believe that this is a good time to inform you all that Thor is not human," Strange said, "Hydra must have known that."

I gave Strange a wide eye stare, but quickly calmed my features down. No need to get myself involved in this, "Aida, you must have noticed."

Fuck. Him.

Steve and Bucky turned to look at me, along with the rest of the room. "Aida?" Bucky asked and I gave the tensest smile of my life.

"Yeah," I stretched the word out as much as I could, "Thor is most definitely, you know, Thor."

Natasha frowned, "As in the Nordic god?" I gave her a thumbs up and nodded.

"That's the one." I confirmed, "His memories had been wiped and his powers sealed, but Asgard has been in total chaos the past couple decades since their prince went missing."

Fury's glare deepened as he radiated anger. Yikes, I did not want to be here right now.

"Hydra must have known and taken him, knowing we would be focusing on the other agents." He looked over at not-Katheryn and said, "It's time. We must take down Hydra before they do something to Thor."

Not-Katheryn looked at Fury and gave him a quick nod before going back to her book. I just stood there in shock, watching as everyone planned the attack on Hydra and saving Thor.

Looking back at Strange an agreement was made between us to not say anything. Maybe after we took down Hydra. Maybe.

They kept talking and making plans, which I tuned out and just focused on actually staying awake till the meeting ended. As soon as Fury said we were dismissed I walked to the door, planning on taking a nice long nap for the rest of the day.

Then I felt a tugging on my shirt and I looked down into brown eyes.

Not-Katheryn was staring right up at me, "Aida, I want to introduce myself."

Knowing what this meant I stopped my conversation with Nat and smiled at her, "Well, tell me. Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"

She looked down and then quickly met my eyes again, "Percy." She held up the book she was reading, "He's my favorite. I want to be a hero just like him."

My eyes stung as I hugged her, "It's so nice to meet you Percy. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for you."

* * *

Luckily I didn't really have to do anything since Percy knew the path to Hydra's hideout and SHIELD had been tracking them down for decades already. Jason and Thomas were on their way back and would help coordinate the more magical sides of things along with Strange.

All I really had to do was stay in the SHIELD headquarters and continue my job as Peter's nanny. Which I would gladly do, after a couple hours of sleep.

Peter was staying with Tony in the clinic since Pepper had to go on a business trip she couldn't put off. As soon as I woke up I made my way down to the clinic and knocked on the door, opening it anyways when nobody answered.

The first thing I saw was Tony laying down across a small couch, feet curled up to his chest. Then my eyes moved over to the bed and there was Peter's small body. His skin was as white as the sheets and he was hooked to a bunch of monitors.

Luckily he looked a lot better than before, no fever and he was breathing normally. It was hard to believe how sick he had gotten just a night ago. Making my way over to his bedside I reached out and held his hand, feeling relief course through me at the warmth I felt.

Peter had changed my life, since the moment I saw him everything had gotten brighter. Just being around him made my heart feel whole and full, as if it was submerged in a bucket of warm water.

I wanted to protect him, to make sure he was safe. I wanted him to be happy, healthy and able to do anything he wanted.

"Aida?" A small voice spoke and I looked up into his eyes, watched as he reached up and rubbed them, "I feel gross."

I gave a small chuckle and caressed his cheek, "You've had a rough couple hours, Peter. Gave us a scare."

He looked over to where Tony was still sleeping, "Why is dad here?"

"He's been taking care of you while you were sick," I told him, "Making sure you were okay."

Peter looked over at Tony, tears in his eyes, "I was so scared, Aida. It felt so hot and itchy, everything was so loud." I kept running my hands through his hair, not saying anything as tears fell down his face.

Eventually Tony stirred, opening his eyes slowly, "Peter?" He croaked, "You're awake." Peter gave him a shaky nod, crying as Tony came over and wrapped him up in a hug.

"Daddy!" He cried, "Those people took me and then the spider bit me and now I'm sick! I don't wanna be sick, daddy."

I stepped out of the room as Tony comforted Peter, letting them have their privacy. That wasn't a moment I would intrude in.
