Thankfully Alexander Pierce was not a fighter. In that it was very easy to smack him in the face with a vine and knock him out. Then ripping open the bars and making my way upstairs was only a matter of a couple minutes.

What was not easy was how incredibly tired I was and how much my body hurt. Every step was a struggle and I knew that by the end of this I would sleep for three days straight. But as I slammed the door that led upstairs open, I could hear chanting and that reminded me that there was a cult trying to sacrifice Peter.

That kid was going to need so much therapy.

If every horror movie I've ever watched was correctI needed to go to where the chanting was and quickly. I had no idea how much time had passed since I was locked down in the basement and Peter was waiting for me. Walking was hard and I was pretty sure I had a broken rib, but I dragged my body towards the chanting.

Going up a set of stairs and down a lavish hallway, I stood in front of a set of grand double doors. The carving in the wood depicted a giant coming from the clouds, a mass of tentacles and eyes, exactly like the type of doors I imagined in a cultist house.

Seriously, these people had an aesthetic they were sticking to. Respect, but also they sucked. Who needed doors that big? I was putting my entire body weight against the doors and they barely creaked, leaving me panting and reminding me of all my wounds.

Welp, I had no time to waste, so I sucked it up and kept pushing. Eventually I heard the sweet creaking of the wood, the sound of the doors opening. As I peeked inside there was a circle of men in capes and hoods, all raising their hands and chanting. In the middle of the circle, surrounded by candles with green flame, laid Peter and Percy.

It sounded like 'something-something-Mh'ithrha- something' so whatever it was they were saying, it seemed like they were still trying to summon the old god. Idiot humans, the minute Mh'ithrha steps foot or tentacle on this plane we can all kiss our existence goodbye.

Now how exactly was I going to disrupt the summoning without getting anymore hurt? As I leaned against the slightly opened door, there suddenly came the sound of an explosion and it felt like the entire house shook. There was smoke coming from the staircase and the sound of running footsteps from downstairs.

"Oh, hell no." I whispered, watching as the cultist stopped and argued amongst themselves. Then three broke away from the group and walked towards where I was. Cursing, I noticed a cabinet down the hall and ran to get into it.

Nobody's going to check on a cabinet when there was a bomb detonated downstairs.

As I hid in the cabinet the sound of fighting and yelling reached my ears. For a brief second I wondered if I should join, but it took one glance down at my blue and black forearm to sit my ass right back down.

Leaning my back against the wall, I wondered how the hell my life had become the way it had. All I ever wanted was a steady paycheck, a house and possibly to make out with two hot government agents.

"I wonder what's going on out there," I murmured, not being able to see anything in the darkness. Suddenly, a bright light flashed in the room through the bottom of the door and there was the sound of a bunch of things breaking and then thunder.

Screaming and footsteps sounded right outside my door and then silence. Which would have worried me if not for the feeling of Asgardian magic in the air, which led me to the only logical conclusion.

"Thor," I whispered to myself and thanked every Ancient, Old God and any other powerful entity in between. Thor was back with the most amazing timing known to mankind. Taking a chance I slightly opened the door and peeked outside. Noting that nobody was in the hallway I snuck out and started running back to the summoning room.

There was rubble everywhere and the giant doors were wide open, causing me to run just a bit faster towards them.

The room was abandoned with blood staining the floor. Cursing, I closed my eyes and willed the last bit of energy I had towards finding those kids. Looking through blades of grass in my vicinity, potted plants, even moss for any sign of Peter and Percy.

That was when I saw them. They were being carried down a set of stairs, their little bodies limped over the shoulders of two cult members. Anger surged through me and I limped my way over to where I saw them.

Through sheer luck or divine intervention I didn't run into anybody as I made my way down hallways and through rooms. Finally reaching the door that I knew led to where Peter and Percy were being taken, I took a deep breath and opened it.

A musty smell hit my nose and I had to blink a couple times to adjust my eyes to the darkness. Holding onto the wall on one side I slowly made my way down, keeping my steps light. Eventually reaching the end, a dark tunnel stretched in front of me and I had no choice but to walk towards it.

After only a couple minutes the sound of voices reached me from around a corner and I stopped, leaning against the wall and trying to listen to the conversation.

"I can't believe those SHIELD fuckers found us." A gruff voice said, nearly spitting the sentence out.

"It had to be because of this bitch," The sound of something being kicked sounded out, "But it doesn't matter. We can do the ritual ourselves after they leave. Mh'ithrha will surely reward us even more."

Closing my eyes, I could feel anger coursing through me. It had to end, this crazy cult of men that wanted to summon something much beyond them. That craved power they couldn't control and were willing to sacrifice the whole world, children, anything for it.

I could feel that there were grass stems lining the edge of this tunnel, plenty of them. If only I could get them to grow, to trap the two men. Then I could call for help, SHIELD was just upstairs. They were bound to find this place eventually.

The footsteps were getting farther away as I gathered the last of my energy. I could feel the grass growing, the stems reaching for them. I could feel when they made contact, the yelling and confused screams of the men. But I couldn't control it, as soon as the grass wrapped around their legs I lost my hold on it.

As my body fell to the floor and I started to lose consciousness all that was left was the anger that I had given the plants. So as the grass pierced their bodies, growing up through blood vessels, wrapping around organs, all I could think was 'finally.'
