As I peaked out from the upstairs window I saw a very fancy car pull up. Now, I didn't know a lot about cars, but this one looked nice. The driver got out and went to open the door in the back and out came a man with a very dignified looking goatee. He looked to be in his early thirties and had a full head of brown hair that was combed back. Tall, but not too tall, probably around 5'10 or so.
Then out came a very elegant looking woman. She was wearing a white summer dress that highlighted her lithe figure. Red hair fell down her shoulder as she bent down to grab the hand of the kid that came out after her.
This must be Peter, I thought as I saw the child bouncing around. He had a head full of curly brown hair and big brown eyes that sparkled so much I could see it from where I stood. He was such a cute munchkin. Though he looked a lot like Mr. Stark and I had to wonder at how they weren't even related.
As I kept staring, I saw the driver going to the back to grab the suitcases as the family walked into the mansion. He made eye contact with a butler and I saw them whispering to each other and looking at the family as they walked into the house.
A little creepy, but ok.
"Aida," A voice called from behind me. Turning around to look at the elderly woman standing at the door to the room, I tilted my head wondering why she looked slightly angry.
"Yes, Mrs. Braun?" I asked.
"Come, you and Natalie are serving the refreshments. I need to introduce you." She turned and walked right out.
Fuck. Me. I was going to be personally introduced to the Starks.
* * *
Natalie was pushing the serving cart, looking not at all worried at possibly messing up and losing a very lucrative job. Seriously, this woman never looked nervous or startled, which was a skill that I so wished I had.
"Breathe," She told me when she noticed I was freaking out, "It's just Tony Stark."
She did not just say that. It wasn't just Tony Stark, it was Anthony Stark- CEO, billionaire, our boss! The man that makes sure that I can keep buying my endless supply of macarons!
Before I could say anything we had reached the entryway to the living room where the family was seated. Mrs. Braun was standing there, talking to Virginia while Anthony and Peter were whispering amongst themselves.
Natalie went in and set down the coffee tray while I placed down the coffee cups and stirring spoons carefully, as to not make any noise. According to all of my training I was supposed to be invisible, not seen or heard, the only thing separating me from being a ghost being the fact that I was alive.
"Are these the new maids?" Mrs. Stark asked as she looked at me and Natalie, who somehow managed to smile at her. I did not even attempt a smile since I was trying my hardest to not fidget in place. I could hear my heartbeat and felt like I was seconds away from throwing up. Not noticing my internal panic, Mrs. Braun nodded and gestured to us like she was showing off a horse.
"This is Aida Baron, 25 years old and graduated top of her class from Weston Academy For Young Girls. Before this she worked for the Lancaster family who recommended her to us a year ago." As Mrs. Braun spoke I could see Anthony and Peter looking at me with curiosity.
Honestly, how were they not related? They even tilted their heads the same way as they stared at me.
Finishing with me, Mrs. Braum moved on to Natalie, "This is our newest employee, Natalie Russo. She's 27 and came to us about six months ago after being recommended by Sir Enoch Ndiaye."
