GOOSEBUMPS
CHAPTER SEVEN

IT HAD BEEN a day since they discovered that Slappy had Nolan in Horrorland. Honestly? If it wasn't damaging to her friends, Becca would have been impressed that Slappy could bring an entire monstrous amusement park to life. Now, though, she mostly just felt anger at her childhood self for picking that to be her favorite novel.

They had been making plans to attack, but Becca was sick and tired of twiddling her thumbs, so she came up with her own plan. And she was gathering the aforementioned 'army of teenaged girls' to do it. She was surprised when a familiar, dark skinned girl approached them where they stood outside the Stine house.

"Genesis? What are you doing here?", Becca asked in confusion. She could never tell if Genesis was there to bully her or not, to be quite honest. Part of Becca knew that, deep down, Genesis wasn't all bad. The bigger part of her was reminded that Genesis teased her relentlessly at every turn.

"I come in peace", Genesis answered, putting her hands up to show that she meant no harm. "Sort of, anyway. Look, I know we don't always get along and have never seen eye to eye about anything, but that freaky doll of yours has been tormenting me too." It wasn't just that day in the park. Slappy had been relentless in his torment of Genesis. "The other night, it attacked me in my bedroom. I came to help."

"The more the merrier then", Becca decided.

So, the group set off towards the amusement park of death, their morale high, but their fears even higher.

Once they passed the wooden 'Welcome to Horrorland!' signs, they got to the big archway. The yellow poles held up a bright yellow banner that read 'Horrorland' in a fancy font. A gargoyle, its stone yellowed and ugly, let out a maniacal laugh as they passed, its eyes turning bright red. The horrific sound caused them all to jump. "Well, there's no turning back after this. Anyone wanna go home?", Becca asked.

"No way!", Hero intervened quickly. "We're all in together. Besides, momma ain't raise no bitch", she declared, picking up her baseball bat and storming ahead with determination.
