Just sharing a scene that didn't make it into the book, plus a scene that was drastically changed. We may be seeing our goosebumps crew again soon...

On his way inside, he passed Caleb, and of course that was gonna be a thing. "You do know that our little Bex is a virgin, right? So if you're just trying to get in her pants, you can—" (a/n: i just wanna clarify in advance that Becca waiting for the right person is something she's very open and comfortable about, it's not a secret because she's told guys this before and of course they tell their friends or whatever. Nolan wouldn't say this if it was something that Becca would be embarrassed or hurt by. i just don't want this to look as bad as it sounds out of context, because he's just defending her in his mind. ♥️)

"Whoa, what?", Caleb answered, raising both his brows. "I don't know if she'd be okay with you telling me that. And why would I only be trying to get in Bex's pants?"

"Because you only try to get in people's pants!", Nolan exclaimed, throwing his arms up. "And I'm putting a stop to this. I'm not gonna let you ruin something that's supposed to be special for her because you can't keep your damn pants up! Becca isn't some one and done thing for you to play with, she's not a toy, and I'm not gonna let you break my best friend." See what he really meant was: I'm not gonna let you take my best friend, because I know you can and that scares me.

"Alright, small fry, I don't know what you're on, but come off it", Caleb said dismissively. "If I really wanted to just get in her pants, I would have tried to do it by now. I mean, I'm kind of alone with her for an hour every day."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Oh, you didn't know? Becca and I clean the gym together after school. So if I was trying to get with Becca, I would have made a move on her by now."

"So what I'm hearing is, you don't like Becca?"

The Original Kiss Scene:

After the time they'd had in Horrorland, Rebecca Stine was more than ready to get the hell out of dodge. The place had done enough terrifying her to last a lifetime. All she wanted was to close that stupid book and be done with this hellish week. "Becca!"

"Caleb, come on. It can wait", she frowned.

"No, Becks, I-" Come on, Caleb, are you a man or a mouse? Becca paused slightly, just long enough for Caleb to grab her small wrist. Maybe it was like something out of a movie, that little half spin when he turned her around to pull her closer. That moment when his calloused hand rested against her jaw, his thumb brushing against her cheek, was brief but oh so tender. Big brown doe eyes looked up at him through long, fluttering lashes, plump pink lips parted slightly. That ferris wheel may have been hellish, but its glowing yellow lights illuminated the pair perfectly as they just stood there, drinking each other in.

There was something electrifying about a first kiss. It made you tingle all the way down to your toes. For the two of them, it was no different. Their lips melded together like puzzle pieces finding their way home, hot and cold melding together in perfect harmony, an explosion of bright colors.

And for a second Caleb wondered if this was what love must feel like. If it was looking at someone covered in dirt ( and potential monster goo ) with their messy hair and still finding them beautiful and still wanting to kiss them every day of your life. If it was your heart still racing at the sight of them when they looked less than perfect. If it was something as simple as a single touch being able to calm you down. If it was this electrifying feeling that he was having right now. The thundering of his heart in his chest. Or maybe was the feeling of lips as soft as rose petals, skin as smooth as porcelain, eyes as warm as sunshine, perfume as sweet as sweet as fresh flowers, and words as soft as a summer breeze.

And Caleb decided that if Becca Stine was what love felt like, then he wanted to hold on forever.

And at that exact same moment, Becca was deciding that every single little quirk was worth it. Be it the potential anger issues or the fierce protection, the loyalty to an undefinable fault. Because there was nothing about him that wasn't worth mending, that wasn't worth being patient with. Because love was patient, and kind. Love was this unexplainable warmth. It was the feeling of being in his arms, of feeling safe and calm in his presence for the rest of her life. Or at least for as long as she could hold on to it. Love was passion and joy. It was ups and downs. And she was ready to dive into it head first.

"Becca, are you- Oh", Spencer blinked in surprise, full lips parted slightly in surprise. "Oh my God, it's happening. Let me just-"
