8 - Is It Love?

No One's POV

Arriving at their hotel room, Marinette asked if they had unpacked everything and Adrien confirmed they had. Marinette exclaimed that this is where they'd stay for a whole month, but Adrien remained somewhat distracted.

Marinette waved her hands in front of Adrien to get his attention, and he apologized for zoning out and blushing. Marinette teased him for blushing and Adrien said he'd make their bed, calling himself a weirdo.

Marinette reassured Adrien that he wasn't a weirdo and was her best friend besides Alya. Marinette persisted in teasing him about what he had been daydreaming, causing Adrien to get flustered and say he had to get to work. Marinette laughed and Adrien told her to go freshen up.

Adrien started to say something but stopped, and Marinette asked him to tell her. Adrien refused so Marinette left. Alone, Adrien admitted to himself he might be falling for Marinette and that it wasn't even his fault - she was just so perfect.

Later, Marinette saw Adrien half-naked and apologized for intruding. Adrien, realizing Marinette was dressed up, said he'd be out dressed in a minute. Marinette gave him a gleaming look before leaving.

Leaving their room,  Adrien wondered where Marinette was and saw her talking to Alya. Marinette told him to get food from the canteen and join the others at the campfire.

When Adrien arrived at the campfire, Nino invited him to sit next to him. Kim announced they would play Truth or Dare. Nino spun the bottle and it landed on Marinette.

Marinette chose Truth and Nino asked if any of the guys were more than friends to her. Marinette said there was one guy - Adrien Agreste. Everyone "Oohed" and Adrien blushed.

Marinette clarified that Nino had only asked who was more than a friend, meaning just a best friend. Alya laughed and gave Marinette a high five. The others were disappointed at the lack of juiciness.

It was Marinette's turn and the bottle landed on Juleka who chose Dare. Marinette dared her to kiss her crush. Juleka kissed Rose and everyone "Awwed" at the cuteness.

While the scene showed the playful chemistry between the entire friend group, there were hints of something more developing specifically between Adrien and Marinette. Marinette's initial response hinted at her feelings for Adrien before clarifying, while Adrien's blush showed her words affected him. Their chemistry remained subtle yet present.

*So, the game continues with nothing special but Adrien saying yes, he has a crush on someone without revealing her name. But guys, come on, we all know who that very lucky girl is. I mean I'm seriously jealous of Marinette right now. LOL!*

Adrien's POV

Adrien suggested that it was getting late and they should go to sleep. Marinette agreed.

Adrien then asked Marinette if he was really only her best friend, nothing more. Marinette confirmed he was. Adrien apologized and Marinette reassured him it was okay.

Adrien checked that Marinette was sure about sleeping in the same bed, offering to sleep on the couch instead. Marinette thought of his sweetness and said they could cuddle. Adrien was shocked but excited, though he tried to play it cool.

Marinette suggested they change into their pajamas. Adrien insisted Marinette use the bathroom while he changed in the room.

After about 15 minutes, Adrien told Marinette he was done changing. When Marinette opened the door, Adrien was stunned by her beauty and told her she was so damn beautiful and hard to resist. Marinette laughed and Adrien assured her as a gentleman he would ensure she was okay.

Marinette said she knew Adrien was a gentleman and suggested they go to bed. Adrien's emotions were swirling as he thought about cuddling Marinette - feelings of attraction, and nervousness but also excitement at growing closer to his cherished friend.

Once in bed, Adrien initially had trouble sleeping as Marinette's warmth and proximity captivated him. However, the comfort and familiarity of being with his dear friend eventually overtook his nerves and Adrien drifted into peaceful slumber, cherishing the promise of new adventures awakening between them.
